Can the 11 year old lad you beat to death go around accusing you of his killing? No, because you killed him
Replying to @DanNeidle
Dan. Can I go around in public saying you raped me? Because that's what your defending. The police exist.

Is this more proof of McDonald handing round data protected medical records like a box of chocolates? Here we have Richard Gill stating publicly that data containing confidential patient information was obtained from Lucy Letby's defence team. I'm sure the babies' parents would like to know on what basis Gill and others obtained access to that material. Assisting instructed experts in legal proceedings is one thing. Conducting a collaborative scientific research project is another. Given that there is currently no appeal before the courts, only a CCRC application, a legitimate question arises as to what authority is being relied upon for the disclosure and use of confidential medical records for research purposes. The burden should not be on bereaved families to discover after the fact that their children's medical data has become the subject of a research project. Absolutely disgraceful. #innocencefraud @legalmarkmc

The early 2010s, when Russell Brand’s reputation was at its peak, were an unlovely period in recent British history, especially media culture. The worst aspects of Brand’s conduct had already manifested themselves in the preceding decade, but this did not prevent his subsequent elevation into something approaching a public intellectual. Narcissistic kidults were celebrated as insightful truth-tellers; performative, self-righteous indignation was mistaken for intellectual seriousness, loudness for courage, certainty for knowledge, and self-dramatisation for independence of mind. More established forms of informed, measured and thoughtful judgment, refined through experience and reflection, were increasingly dismissed as dull or reactionary. The prominence, in different ways, of figures such as Owen Jones, Laurie Penny, Katie Hopkins and Milo Yiannopoulos, followed later in the decade by Charlotte Church as a political activist, Kerry-Anne Mendoza, Aaron Bastani and Ash Sarkar, reflected a wider celebration of adolescent modes of behaviour in adults. These figures exhibited different combinations of impulsiveness, ostentatious defiance and attention-seeking, too often mistaken for intellectual and moral courage. In Brand's case, the narcissism cultivated and indulged by much of the media was that of a man seemingly so in love with himself, so convinced of his own irresistible appeal, that he could scarcely comprehend the possibility that anyone might say ‘no’ to him. This is not to associate any of these other figures with Brand’s criminal conduct, but to identify the wider media culture in which his celebrity flourished. There are connections here with a wider political culture of knee-jerk responses, impatience with complexity and a need for emotionally satisfying certainties and slogans, which found expression in aspects of both Corbynism and the Brexit campaign, and which persists today in different populist forms around the Greens and Reform.

Yep. The word 'addiction' does not absolve criminals of personal responsibility. They genuinely treat that word like its some sort of get out of 'jail free card'. To be expected ofcourse.

Jack Grove has done what journalists with integrity and courage do. He’s followed the evidence. He’s not been deterred by threats and intimidation. And he’s pursued a story in good faith and in the public interest. Unfortunately for Grove, he lives in a time when everything becomes politicised. And many bad-faith actors, along with those who believe they are good and noble but are actually entirely incapable of interpreting anything outside their own political bubble, have come after him. If the attacks on Grove are successful, there will be those who celebrate without realising the implications: the chilling effect his silencing and ostracisation would have on journalism as a whole. Who would want to chase a story if they knew there was a likelihood of political blowback, cancellation, criticism, threats and condemnation? Not many people. It’s a testament to Grove’s character that he’s stood at the centre of this firestorm and maintained one simple truth: he was doing his job. He did it well. He broke a big story. The consequences of that story were tragic, but that’s nothing to do with Grove. If journalists thought, ‘I’d better not write this story because of the mental health impact it might have on the subject’, no stories would ever be written. Because there’s always that possibility, however slim, that being exposed for dishonesty, wrongdoing or bad conduct might tip somebody over the edge. But without journalism, there would be no democracy, no freedom, no accountability. Thank goodness the Press Gazette has shown some backbone. It’s time all of us stood up to the holier-than-thou hypocrites who dress up their ideological, authoritarian instincts in the clothes of compassion.

Forget all the huge supermarkets and their mawkish Christmas adverts, this was the best Christmas advert - Enniskillen pub Charlie's put out this advert back in 2023. It’s brilliant.

This was an important public interest story in my area of expertise - research integrity - which only a specialist reporter could have uncovered. UK universities receive billions of pounds in public money every year and their researchers should face scrutiny, especially when evidence of potential academic misconduct emerges timeshighereducation.com/opi…

The reason Jack Grove’s work is so remarkable is that he had the courage to look for the truth despite the harrassment he would receive from Arday, the police and the likes of Cadwalladr. I’m pleased that some journalists have the integrity to recognise this
Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

Amazing. @kathviner you are a fraudster.
Even the Guardian is now flirting with plagiarism denial This narrative might get me murdered by a deranged Arday supporter, but the silver lining is that the left-wing establishment has never been so discredited

There has been a strong suggestion from her defenders that Lucy Letby is not like the typical Healthcare Serial Killer. The issue is, if you compare her to the small number who target infants, she absolutely does fit the profile. This blog shows how. jamestreadwell.substack.com/…
