A poem written by D-Day veteran Mervyn Kersh.❤️
Mervyn was a private who helped to ensure that the British Army had enough vehicles to win the battle for Normandy and continue into France.
He landed on Gold beach three days after D-day and served with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. His job was to ensure his team always had 1000 vehicles roadworthy and ready to go - replacing those lost in action or in accidents.
We thank you for your service, Sir. 🇬🇧
