I haven’t heard Republicans this nervous since 2006.
It’s bad everywhere, and now there is legitimate concern about Iowa, Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina.
It all comes back to affordability, the Iran war, and President Trump.

I finished my former boss Stephen Harper’s memoirs tonight on the eve of their release.
Acknowledging my own bias, I was struck by how gracious and introspective the book is. He expressed admiration for (some) political opponents and reckoned with his personal shortcomings as well as took stock of his real accomplishments.
It will always be one of the weirder conventional wisdoms among his critics that Harper was an angry reactionary rather than a principled and thoughtful normie conservative.

What? Win World War 2 & keep naval presence across the Pacific? Thank Heaven we did & do. The nations there feel the same.
America having military bases overseas is apparently reason enough for us to surrender our sovereignty to the PRC. Might as well tell our fishermen to stop fishing and let their families go hungry, since PRC harassment of them is now magically justified bc of this map

Scoop - Japan and Taiwan are working on a broad trade pact, according to sources with direct knowledge of the talks, that could provide a strategic anchor between the Asian tech powers and break a logjam in Taiwanese trade diplomacy. @NikkeiAsia 1/4 asia.nikkei.com/economy/trad…

The events at the Constitutional Tribunal in Warsaw last night were not elegant but the alternative was to concede an unconstitutional transformation of Poland into a presidential republic.
Poland continues to be ruled by a coalition government elected by parliament.
The stand off around Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal is about restoring rule of law to an institution which had been politicised by the populist government which lost power in the election of 2023. Its president repeatedly broke the law by steering politically sensitive cases to hand-picked judges. It failed to pass its own budget,
