Another big breakthrough after Jev!
Jev answers a fixed question over a fixed input, so a live chat requires re-reading the full transcript on every update.
Devs just built Sage2, which pairs an extraction model and a decision model on the same live stream.
Usually, in a live conversation, the details and the decisions keep changing.
New details show up gradually, and several questions stay open the whole time.
- The extraction stage turns each new message into structured fields in 150 ms, each tied to the exact source span it came from. Those fields then become decision options.
- The decision model scores them as text streams in, and returns typed answers with probabilities, so the full loop from raw text to action runs in about 200 ms.
This gives a fully reactive automation over a live chat, with no re-reading of the transcript.
Sage2 is built by @levantolabs, the team that shipped the first decision model, before Jev.
The video below depicts the model live in action on a broadband support chat, and I worked with the team to put this together.
More details below.
Software can now understand human language and act on it, in real time.
Introducing Sage2
- Extract: natural language in, structured data out. 166x cheaper than Opus 5.5, beats @Cloudflare's Clairic
- Decide: the first decision model with streaming. 3x faster, because it reads the context as it grows.

Google DeepMind trained a model to run psychiatric intake interviews entirely in simulation, then tested it with 32 psychiatrists playing patients.
Against its identically prompted base model, it won 76.7% of 60 matched cases, rated blind by a separate psychiatrist panel. Appropriate differential diagnoses roughly doubled, from 33.3% to 68.3%.
The safety numbers cut both ways: under-triage of acute risk in adversarial scenarios fell from 30.5% to 12.9%. A big improvement, and still roughly one in eight.
Interesting work from @SRSchmidgall and the team on how simulated interactions can improve clinical interviewing.

🚨 GPT Astra update
This is the model that solved the Navier-Stokes problem.
Its lowest setting beats the current Astra at max. Now think about that efficiency and that quality jump.
A real fat model is coming.
I decompiled probably my favorite game ever: Battlefield 1942 and I put it on the web with multiplayer for you to play here:
👉 bf1942.pieter.com 👈
(It's the free shareware demo)
It was way harder than the other ports like Quake and DOOM I did because they already had lots of open source projects and work behind them
In case of Battlefield 1942 there was literally absolutely nothing to work on top of, nobody had ever ported it and there was no open source engine for it, nor did the makers ever open source it (like id Software did with Quake 3)
I tried it 6 months ago and essentiay gave up but I tried it today again with Opus 5.5 asking "can you try port the BF1942 demo in this folder to web"
So me and Claude Code (well let's be honest mostly Claude Code) did crazy shit today:
- it disassembled the x86 raw machine code to find 57,000 x86 functions
- it translated each x86 function into a C function (mov eax, [esi+0x110] becomes eax = READ32(esi + 0x110), I have no idea what any of this means btw)
- it outputed 100,000 lines of C
- it then compiled that to WebAsswmbly with Emscripten
- there were 300x Windows and Direct3D functions used which we had to rewrite to WebGL 2 and OpenGL to work on the web
- then we had to build our own network stack so it could connect to our multiplayer server via WebSockets
I have no idea how it did any of this but it did it and it seems to work! 😊
Come play and report any bugs here!

Drone propulsion systems nowadays aren’t like the one that attacked me at Stanford years ago.
Really it is a prototype for a flying vehicle.
No one will pay attention now.
But I do. This work leads to new things eventually.

12 hours after withdrawals resumed: 2.1% net outflow, with most occurring in the first couple of hours. Over $1 billion in flow, too.
98% choose to stay!
Trust isn’t earned by what you say in good times. It’s earned by what you do in hard times.
Thank you for your trust! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Binance began restoring withdrawals in phases at 06:00 UTC on November 1, 2026. By 12:36 UTC, withdrawals had resumed for all 15 networks and assets in the initial phase. After an initial spike, withdrawal volumes have declined and are stabilising as expected, while deposit volumes have remained substantial.
Between 06:00 and 15:30 UTC on November 1, we processed $4.649 billion in withdrawals and $1.01 billion in deposits, resulting in a net outflow of approximately $3.64 billion. This represents 2.1% of our $171 billion in total assets under management (AUM), based on the latest available Proof of Reserves (PoR) data as of October 28, 2026. A new PoR snapshot was taken at 00:00 UTC on October 31, and zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) computation began. The updated report is expected to be available on our PoR website tomorrow.
Our team continues testing rigorously the remaining networks and assets. We know how important safe and reliable access to your funds is and will share details of the next phase as soon as we can. Rest assured that market conditions are stable.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.

we’ve built a neurosymbolic AI that can chat like an LLM.
it just scored 28.4% on ARC-AGI-3 (on the kaggle leaderboard) for $19
for context:
GPT-6.1 Sol (High): 26.72%
GPT-6 Astra (Low): 17.45%
GPT-5.6 Sol (Max): 7.78%
Claude Sonnet 5.5 (XHigh): 24.31%
unlike other ARC-AGI Competition submissions which use an LLM and harness, our AI is a beta version of a symbolic ai + activation steered RL-based transformer (in the works).
we have a main inference harness and a browser-use and computer-use harness ready.
now we just need to find out how to get a 96GB VRAM GPU server to make it publicly accessible 🥀

Binance has allocated 100% of the funds, it's just 5% remaining to convert to some of the small coins taking time.
For AGI to benefit all of humanity, it should help people with the everyday tasks that matter most to them. So we built LifeVal, a new benchmark shaped by feedback from thousands of ChatGPT users on where they most want help from a personal assistant—from finding childcare to accessing government services to managing personal finances.
Over the past year, we’ve used LifeVal to measure and improve how well our models handle these everyday tasks.

The Mine Kafon is a remarkably simple and affordable invention designed to tackle one of the world’s most dangerous threats: landmines. Created by Afghan designer Massoud Hassani, this wind-powered device operates without electricity, motors, or remote controls. Constructed from lightweight bamboo rods and plastic feet, it moves naturally across the landscape as the wind pushes it forward.
When the Mine Kafon rolls over a buried landmine, its weight can trigger an explosion. Although the blast may damage some of its legs, the device is designed to withstand partial destruction and potentially continue moving to detonate additional mines.
In places like Afghanistan, where unexploded landmines have devastated communities for generations, this innovative rolling sphere represents a creative, low-cost approach to making dangerous land safer.

This bottle was never opened. Roman bird flasks like this one were filled at the furnace and then sealed shut by reheating the tip of the tail, with no stopper and no opening anywhere.
To use the perfume you had to snap the tail off. An intact bird is an unused bottle, which is why there is still liquid inside this one after 2000 years..

BREAKING: France just voted to tax the internet.
French lawmakers approved a tax of €0.055 (5.5 cents) for every gigabyte of data that companies like Netflix and YouTube send to French users. It’s a tax on the companies, not users directly, but the cost could get passed on to subscribers.
The vote was 11 to 10, with only 35 of 577 lawmakers present. Supporters say it could raise up to €10 billion a year. The French government opposed it, warning it would hit smaller French companies hardest; VLC says it would cost it over €1 million a year.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This amendment to France's 2027 budget bill was narrowly adopted 11-10 in the National Assembly (35 voters present) but is not yet law, faces government opposition, and must still clear further Assembly/Senate steps.

A major standoff is unfolding in Poland tonight over the Constitutional Tribunal. Judges elected by parliament, with the support of Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s pro-EU, centrist government, moved to take control of the court’s leadership and suspended its president, a PiS appointee.
The move is part of Tusk’s effort to reverse changes made under the previous right-wing PiS government, which critics accused of politicizing the judiciary. Police secured the court grounds after protesters tried to breach the fence, detaining three people. President Karol Nawrocki, a PiS ally, even cut short his trip to Senegal and rushed back to Poland.
Prime Minister Tusk says he’s working to restore the rule of law, while PiS accuses his government of staging a coup.
