I've been using this trilemma based prioritization discussion process with good impact. It's quickly clear that just prioritizing using "value" gives an ineffective order. Perishable things jump the queue anyway; valuable things get immediately blocked because they aren't doable

“Delivering faster” is good for two primary reason: (1) it increases the frequency and quantity of feedback. If devs can’t get that feedback (e.g. can’t talk to customers), then delivering faster does you no good at all. 1/

What are some reasons we can’t forecast properly?
1. Start date uncertainty
2. The assumption that “size” of work is the main contributor to lead-time (when it's idleness)
3. Over-utilization – people not working on what you think they are, but totally busy
