The parents of Oleksii, a 14-year-old boy beaten at an alleged secret Azov detention facility near Kyiv — where mobilized men and military deserters were allegedly held and tortured — have now been added to the notorious Myrotvorets hit list, with their personal information published for all to see.
Because apparently, having your child beaten isn't punishment enough. Why not put the entire family's safety at risk while you're at it?
They are accused of “failure to fulfill parental responsibilities for the care and upbringing of minor children, resulting in serious consequences.”
Now, naturally, I assume Ursula von der Leyen will be issuing an urgent statement today, expressing her profound outrage over these human rights violations in Ukraine.
Surely, she'll immediately put the brakes on the $115 billion Zelensky is asking for.
After all, you can't possibly keep handing over European taxpayers' money to a country where people are tortured, children are beaten, and families who speak out find themselves exposed on a “kill list.”
That would be a little awkward for the whole “defending European values, freedom, and democracy” narrative, wouldn't it?

No, not his abusers — the boy himself.
He is accused of:

On this day in 1839, 10,000 Welsh workers marched on Newport to demand the right to vote. Met with gunfire from state forces, the Chartist uprising became the largest armed revolt in 19th-century Britain.
Every right we hold today was won through working-class struggle, not handed down from above.
Nearly two centuries later, that fight continues.
Across France, Germany, Italy, and Portugal, hundreds of thousands are taking to the streets over the rising cost of living, failing public services, and unaffordable housing. Workers face the same fundamental choice the Chartists did: accept what the ruling class offers, or organise and demand more.
The Newport martyrs proved that rights are never freely given, they are taken through collective action. Honour their memory by organising for the future.

I hate Labour. All the years I was a member: now I hate them. I especially hate the dishonesty, the twisting and hedging and obscuring that poisons our entire political life. 'Our focus on the cost of living.' They must never be forgiven.

No political party is perfect but we are the party of working people and voters are responding to our focus on the cost of living.
