Did they stop teaching pilots flying large jets to kick in the rudder just before you touch down in a heavy crosswind? I constantly see videos of airplanes touching down in a crab and can't understand why they don't use the rudder to straighten the aircraft a few feet before touchdown. If you do it right, you will not need to use much aileron until after touchdown, so there's no risk of hitting a wingtip. It's all about the timing of using rudder to straighten the nose down the centerline of the runway.
