I think we're asking the wrong question in the Starlink @Starlink vs Jio @reliancejio debate.
The bigger question is: who controls the infrastructure we depend on, and what happens when their interests stop matching ours? 🇮🇳🧵
That's where I'd want more detail: who handles the data, which laws apply, and what safeguards exist?
A concern is a reason to investigate, not proof of a hidden agenda.

Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.
Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?
There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.

Cloud, search, enterprise tech and creative software, all led by people from India.
If the US ever makes it harder for talent like this to build there, that's America's loss and a big opportunity for us.
