With KZN’s local government elections heavily favouring the MK Party, the Gupta family is probably already planning their return to South Africa, based in KZN, of course. Maybe under new identities just to be safe. 🤣🤣🙌 – at Phuthaditjhaba, South Africa

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.
These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy.
While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

This is a very superficial analysis. There are millions of ANC volunteers who openly and actively endorse the movement without belonging to leadership structures or personally benefiting (the benefit you speak of because everyone benefited from the ANC in one way or another) from it. You are mistaking the people most visible to you for the entire support base, then reducing political conviction to patronage. People support the ANC because of its values, policies, history and roots in their communities, even while recognising its failures. Your timeline is not a scientific sample.

Mashaba and Phalatse were DA mayors in Joburg and were both disasters.

I think as we see the tears, we must also remember the arrogance and hubris they dished out when they were UBaba's favourites. When they were close to power - how did they speak? How did they treat others? That should give "context" to the tears.
The problem with the fellows joining MKP is that they honestly believe that what happened to others in the Tripartite Alliance, and what has happened to so many MKP members, will not happen to them.
Nomvalo is not the first, and will not be the last, to go on TV crying and complaining about knives in the back and depression taking a toll on family members
The problem with many MKP people is that none of them can face Double Head and tell him straight that he’s fuck-uping. I don’t know what he has done to them or what he has given them, but no matter how badly he messes up, they still defend him. Yet the moment he turns on them or deals with them, they suddenly run to media. Even then, they still avoid telling him directly that he’s messing up. It serves them right. – at Phuthaditjhaba, South Africa
