Trade: Colts are sending three-time Pro-Bowl DT DeForest Buckner back to the 49ers, the team that made him a 2016 first-round pick before dealing him to Indianapolis in 2020, per me and @rapsheet. Now Buckner returns to San Francisco, fortifying the 49ers defensive line.

The long anticipated reunion comes to fruition.
Trading Buckner was what John Lynch called the hardest move he’s had to make as a GM.
Getting him back for a 4 perhaps one of the easiest.

Absolutely insane throw. Can you imagine the mainstream sports media if Mahomes made this throw. They would be gushing all over it all week. But they all hate Purdy so no one will say anything. – at Morristown, TN
#49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said he came close to challenging this play, which was nearly an absurd completion from QB Brock Purdy to TE Luke Farrell.
"I didn't think it was that close at first, but then they showed one up on the scoreboard at the last second that I though was paused perfectly, that looked like he got his knee in bounds," Shanahan said. "I actually think it was in, but I don't know if they would've overturned it. However they would've called it, I think they would've stayed with it because it just seemed so close, but it ended up being a hell of a throw."
