In the late 60’s it was 5¢ a bar. Minimum wage was $1.00 in 1967. Today it’s about $17-20 so a $1.00 candy bar is somewhere close to that ratio without looking at other economic factors.

Even at half price , it is still 100% too expensive. Candy bars used to be twice as big for .5 Cents.. Used to taste like real chocolate, too, instead of whatever Waxy stuff they make the new bars outta of.?? Take me back to 1966. Leave me there, Forever, Captain..

.@SamaritansPurse has rebuilt, replaced, or repaired over 300 homes and mobile homes affected by Hurricane Helene so far, and we had a very special dedication near where I live in Boone yesterday. After we gave Genny and her son Tristan the keys to their finished home, she was baptized in the creek behind the house! The 64-year-old single mother and caregiver had put her faith and trust in Christ while volunteers and staff were working in her home every day and praying for her. Genny told us, "It’s like a dream come true ... prayers I hadn’t even uttered have been answered. The way everything came together, there is no other way but it came directly from Jesus.” I thank God that we can help hurting families like this in Jesus’ Name—and am so grateful for everyone who has prayed, given, and volunteered to make it all possible.

I appreciate all the compliments. Thank you.
However this article even though its enjoyable to read, in the end it has no real meaning.

Who knows where it all goes from here.
Not me, not you.
Yet...

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

NEW: Multiple federal sources confirm to @FoxNews that the suspect arrested for using a sledgehammer to behead a WW2 Iwo Jima monument in Quantico, VA on Tuesday is a Mexican illegal alien & former DACA recipient whose legal status expired this year.
Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano has now been charged with felony destruction of property and trespass with intent to damage property.
Per federal sources, Soriano illegally crossed into the U.S. in December 1999. He was granted DACA by the Obama administration in 2014 and had it extended for years, most recently by the Biden admin in 2024, but he lost his DACA status in August of this year when it wasn’t renewed by the Trump administration.
