My comments at the Oxford Union debate. This is one of the most hostile rooms I’ve ever walked into. It wasn’t a debate; it was a referendum on whether my own family deserved to live. I don’t require their permission. Not anymore.

In Manhattan 🇺🇸, a Jewish man was reportedly stabbed in broad daylight while walking down the street. Security footage shows the man being followed, along with the alleged attack. Authorities are currently investigating this as a hate crime. Even on a busy NYC street, antisemitic actors move without shame.

AIPAC announced today it will stop endorsing candidates and stop sending money through its PAC. Activists have complained about these AIPAC’s donations for years, and yet I don't think it will change a thing… Anti-Israel groups were already going after individual Jewish donors who gave to candidates on their own and calling it AIPAC money. When the complaint is that Jews give money to politicians, ending one PAC wouldn’t solve it. I've never liked how much money there is in American politics, from anyone. But if the problem was really campaign finance, the same people would be just as angry if not more about every other lobby, and they aren't.

The New York Times has a new piece asking how much of the opposition to Abdul El-Sayed is anti-Muslim. Honestly, some of it is. But some of it isn't, and we shouldn't pretend otherwise. I don't care what his mother did in Egypt in the 1970s, and it’s not his responsibility what a half-sister he wasn't raised with has posted, including her praise of the 7 October massacres. But I do care that El Sayed did sign a letter supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in 2012. Pointing out he did that is not bigotry. When a man drove his truck into a Michigan synagogue with 140 children inside, El-Sayed condemned it, then released a video the next day explaining that 'hurt people hurt people' because the attacker's relatives (Hezbollah members) had been killed in Lebanon. He apologised five months later, during an election campaign, but reminding people what he said at first isn't bigotry either. He has repeatedly declined to say whether Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state, and when he condemns terror groups like Hamas and the regime in Iran, it tends to come with a 'but.' We can condemn anti-Muslim sentiment without ignoring antisemitism. It's not hard.

Australian politician Helen Haines has had both of her legs amputated after she was intentionally run over by a Free Palestine activist. Here is what we know: -Brendan Nugent rammed his car into Helen Haines outside of her office, backed up, and then rammed into her again. -Brendan Nugent follows Helen Haines on Twitter and has praised her climate activism. -Brendan Nugent is also a staunch anti-Israel activist. -Helen Haines has expressed sympathy to both Palestinians and Israelis, though she appears to add caveats when empathizing with Israelis. -Brendan Nugent's family has been friends with Helen Haines for years. At this moment, police do not know what the motive was.

I call out settler violence daily. I have no problem using my platform to call on the Israeli government to hold extreme Israeli settlers accountable. I am not condemning people for calling attention to the bureaucratic hurdles that Palestinians face when they want to harvest olives on their own land. I wish that no security measures were necessary in the West Bank, and that Palestinians had a safe, democratic state. As someone who served in the West Bank for 5 years, I can say that theatrical protests that disregard necessary safety protocols are not helping Palestinians, even if they help a politician's career. Putting the IDF into the impossible position of keeping protesters safe who refuse to coordinate their whereabouts is dangerous to human life. Criticizing only Israel while remaining silent about how the Palestinian Authority continues to incentivize terror through policies like pay-for-slay is not about bringing peace. It is about vilifying Israel for keeping its citizens, and visitors, safe.

The replies to a new curriculum about the Holocaust that suggests that anti-Zionism is antisemitism.

We don't have an antisemitism problem. We have a complicit in genocide problem.

The massive, independent review into antisemitism in UK schools and colleges has come out today. There are a lot of statistics given by the study that I could throw at you, but I think I'll highlight one particularly horrific one. Amongst secondary teachers who teach about the Holocaust, 40% reported encountering antisemitism among their students, usually in the form of mocking the way Jews look and our "greed." So, as students were learning about the Holocaust, seeing the pictures of dead Jews in piles on the ground, they would make these kinds of comments. Not only that, but a main part of the survey is investigating how antisemitism is not widely understood by teachers and how it often goes greatly underreported because incidents will, more often than not, be downplayed or not understood as antisemitism. So 40% is probably not even the accurate number. With the study comes 27 recommendations to reform the education system in the UK. These recommendations include adopting a clear definition of antisemitism, editing the Teacher's Standards to include antisemitism as a kind of hatred and prejudice that teachers must confront, training teachers in identifying antisemitism, and more. I really hope these recommendations are implemented, because antisemitism is awful enough for an adult to deal with, children shouldn't be facing it on their own.

Mr. Mayor of London, with all due respect, let's not act like this is a surprise. Jewish Londoners have been telling you since 2023 that antisemitism in this city is getting worse. Until you do something more than post "this is appalling" on social media, nothing will change.
The poison of antisemitism has absolutely no place in our city, and certainly not in our schools. Reports of antisemitic incidents in schools in England have risen by 59% in just one year. This is appalling. We must stamp out this hatred before it takes root, so every young person can feel safe at school and to build a better society for our Jewish communities. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c623…

Abdul is right. Don’t ask him whether Israel should exist; ask him why he thinks it’s America’s enemy. And ask him who America should ally with and count on in the Middle East.

Abdisamad Siad, 33, was charged with allegedly attacking 3 Jewish women in London. One woman was pushing a baby in a stroller. The attack was caught on video, in broad daylight. Anti-Jewish violence is out of control in Europe.

🇲🇾 Israelis who registered for the World Amateur Chess Championships in Malaysia were not allowed into the country to play, despite assurances from the competition. 🇳🇱 A city in the Netherlands banned Israeli fans from attending a soccer match. 🇮🇹 100 Jewish early childhood educators canceled their trip to a professional conference in Italy after they were told to sign a statement condemning Israel. 🇨🇭 An Israeli film was excluded from a queer film festival in Switzerland after the filmmaker was subject to questioning about his beliefs about Israel. 🇬🇧 A British comedian was kicked out of a writing group after being questioned on his beliefs about Israel. 🇮🇪 An Irish hotel cancelled the reservations of 70 people who were attending a conference on combating antisemitism. These are just from the past few weeks. Caring about Palestinians is not an excuse to be silent when anti-Jewish hate is being normalized across the world.
