HighNoon Dev Update 🤠 | Matches & Tournaments
A few more things getting cleaned up on the frontier, boys.
This round of work has been focused on improving the overall match experience, particularly what happens before and after the shooting stops.
🎯 Match Results & Leaderboards
- Unified match results and analysis screens into a shared interface with consistent controls.
- Replaced player avatars with color-coded indicators for cleaner match results.
- Refreshed the ranked leaderboard interface, replacing the old decorative elements with a cleaner HighNoon logo watermark.
- Cleaned up the underlying UI structure to make future adjustments easier.
🏆 Tournament System
- Reworked tournament registration, replacing the old registration sheets with shared pages.
- Fixed tournament exit transitions and improved safe-area handling across different screen sizes.
Nothing revolutionary here, but it's a solid round of improvements to the competitive experience.
After all, what's the point of sending half the lobby to the graveyard if the game can't present your victory properly? 😂
More work ahead, cowboys. 🤠
🤖 Made with AI
Alright cowboys, let's pick your brains for a minute. 🤠
As I mentioned earlier, we've been tossing around ideas for our next game, and I figured why not get you guys involved from the very beginning?
We're leaning toward something mobile-first this time, with a much deeper economy, collecting mechanics, rare items, and plenty of ways to put HNON to work.
But here's where things get interesting.
We're not married to any particular concept yet. Could be farming, building, trading, exploring, or something completely different.
So if you had the chance to create a game around HNON, what would you build?
And don't just think about earning tokens. Think about something you'd genuinely enjoy playing, something that keeps you coming back even when you're not making a dime.
We've got some ideas of our own, but I'd love to hear what you guys have in mind. Who knows, maybe one of your ideas ends up becoming our next game.
Let's hear it, cowboys. No bad ideas at this stage. 🤠

HighNoon Weekly Dev Update 🤠 | 26 Commits, 4 Days
Another busy week on the frontier, boys. Figured I'd give you a proper rundown of what we've been cooking behind the scenes.
A good chunk of this week's work went into improving the actual gameplay, while the rest focused on getting our multiplayer systems and backend ready for what's ahead.
🔫 Gunplay & Combat
We've made a bunch of improvements to how shooting feels and looks.
- New bullet tracers, so you can actually follow your shots instead of wondering where the hell they went.
- New hit and kill markers with separate visual feedback.
- Bullets no longer get blocked by dead bodies.
- Improved bot targeting and behavior.
- Better damage synchronization across multiplayer matches.
That last one is pretty important. We've reworked how damage is calculated and shared between players, bots, and destructible objects, so everyone in the match gets consistent results, including who actually scored the kill.
💀 Death, Respawns & Killer Cam
Getting killed just got a little more personal.
We've added a new killer cam that follows whoever sent you to the grave while you wait to respawn.
There's also a new black-and-white death effect, a redesigned respawn interface, and some fixes to prevent players and bots from spawning in the wrong positions.
At least now you'll know which bastard to hunt down when you get back. 😂
⚙️ Multiplayer & Stability
Not the sexiest part of game development, but definitely one of the most important.
We've been cleaning up some old networking issues, including matches getting stuck when players disconnect, power-ups behaving incorrectly after host migration, and multiple players claiming the same pickup.
We've also made sure barrel explosions and damage events are handled consistently across the match.
Basically, fewer weird multiplayer moments and more actual gunfights.
💰 Backend & P2E Infrastructure
This is where things start getting particularly interesting for the HNON ecosystem.
We've connected the game to our backend through a new API layer, bringing in:
- Player authentication and account integration.
- Game session creation, joining, and tracking.
- Kill reporting for both PvP and PvE combat.
- Improved WebGL/browser compatibility.
- Better handling of backend errors and failed requests.
This is important groundwork for our Proof of Play system. Having gameplay activity properly connected to the backend is a big part of building out the earning mechanics.
There's still work to be done, but the pieces are coming together.
🛠 Engine & Development Tools
We've also upgraded HighNoon to Unity 2022.3.62f3, updated the Input System to 1.14.0, and refreshed several core packages, including Cinemachine, Universal Render Pipeline, and AI Navigation.
Nothing particularly exciting to look at, but it helps keep the project on a more reliable foundation as we continue expanding it.
🌵 The Bigger Picture
Now, I know some of you are probably thinking, "Alright, cool, but where's the really new stuff?"
Fair question.
We're giving the original HighNoon the attention it needs, but our vision has always been bigger than a single game.
The long-term goal is to build multiple games under one HNON ecosystem, each bringing something different to the table.
And yes, we've already started discussing ideas for the next title, including a much broader in-game economy, collecting mechanics, and a mobile-first approach.
Still early days on that front, so I'm not going to get ahead of myself.
For now, 26 commits in 4 days, a bunch of gameplay improvements, and some important backend work behind us.
Not every update is going to be fireworks, but progress is progress, and we'll keep sharing it with you.
We've got some interesting ideas on the table for what comes next.
More on that soon, cowboys. 🤠
P2E IS ON, COWBOYS! 🤠
We're kicking things off with the following ratios and will fine-tune them over the next few days based on how things play out with the community.
Proof of Play: Hold 2,500 tokens to earn 1 token per frag/kill.
P2E Daily Cap: 1% of your total token balance.
Consider this our starting point. We'll be watching how things unfold and making adjustments as we go.
Time to put those guns to work. 🔫
Spent today doing some of the less glamorous but pretty important work behind the scenes.
We've upgraded Unity, brought the core systems up to date, cleaned up the pistol and rifle animations, and introduced some new AI-assisted development tools that'll help us move a lot faster going forward.
Basically, getting the whole project on solid ground before we start piling on the fun stuff.
I know engine upgrades and backend improvements aren't exactly what gets the adrenaline pumping around here, but they're necessary if we're serious about building something that lasts.
And trust me, we've got a lot more planned for HighNoon than what you've seen so far.
One step at a time, cowboys. The fun part is getting closer. 🤠
Get ready to step into the future of blockchain gaming. Welcome to a new frontier.

A New Chapter.
It’s been a while, and we think it’s time to address where we stand and what comes next.
Like many projects, we lost momentum towards the end of the last cycle. The market changed, activity slowed, and ultimately, the project never reached the potential that we think it can.
But one thing hasn’t changed. Our belief in what we set out to build.
The original team is still here. Our community is still here. And despite the time that’s passed, we never felt that the original vision was worth walking away from.
We’ve spent time discussing the future of the project, what we learned from the last cycle, and what we believe can still be achieved.
With that in mind, we’ve made the decision. We’re coming back.
We’re approaching this next chapter with renewed focus, a clearer direction, and the same ambition that brought us together in the first place.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about our plans, what’s ahead, and how we intend to move forward.
The original team. The original vision. A new chapter.
We’re coming back. Get ready.

Here’s how our reward economy works 👇
Example:
A player bets 500 $AELND and wins — meaning a total of 1,000 AELND goes into distribution.
From that, we allocate 2% as follows:
🔹0.5% - Staking Rewards: distributed daily to all players who have an active deposit in the game.
🔹0.5% - Monthly Prizes: added to a prize pool that’s randomly distributed among all players once a month.
🔹0.5% - Referral Reward: paid to the player who referred the player, regardless of whether he won or lost.
🔹0.5% - Platform Revenue: But if both players are referrals, this share is redirected to the referrer instead of the platform.
🎮 Fair. Transparent. On-chain.
That’s how Aetherlands keeps the ecosystem balanced.

New Update🚨:
Balanced Beginnings: Optimized Player Spawn Points:
We’ve refined the placement of player spawn points to ensure fair and balanced starts for every match. These adjustments create a more even playing field, giving each player an optimal position right from the start.
Lag Reduction and Smoother Movement:
Lag can break immersion, so we’ve introduced Round Trip Time (RTT) checks for more accurate ping monitoring, leading to reduced perceived lag during gameplay. We’ve also implemented player interpolation, eliminating jitter and ensuring seamless movement for a smoother visual experience.
Bot Performance Boost:
Significant CPU improvements for bots on remote players, making the game more responsive.
Bullet Optimization:
Enhanced bullet performance with fewer hit detection checks per frame, all while maintaining pinpoint accuracy.
Simplified Animation Replacement:
We’ve streamlined the process of swapping player animations with Animator Override Controllers, making it easier to update character motions.
Settings Menu Fix:
Resolved the console error that occurred when opening the settings menu in offline mode.
Camera Stability:
Removed the jerky/stutter effect on the player camera during movement and rotation, leading to a more polished experience.
Looking Ahead🚨:
In addition to these updates, we’re currently overhauling our staking mechanism, developing a new game, and engaged in listing negotiations. October is shaping up to be a major month for HighNoon, and we’re excited for what’s to come.
Stay tuned for more updates!

Development Update🚨:
As the sun sets over the wild west of HighNoon, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes to push the boundaries of the frontier. Our latest development efforts focus on enhancing the gameplay experience while keeping performance sharp as a bullet in a shootout.
Sculpting the Air:
Our engineers have created a new way to manage the swirling dust and dramatic explosions you encounter in HighNoon. By developing specialized wrappers for particle systems within the object pool, we've achieved smoother, more consistent visual effects. Now, the dust kicks up just right, and the smoke from a fresh firefight lingers perfectly in the air, all while keeping performance steady.
Player Cabinet:
Convenience is king, and we’ve crafted a script that allows seamless interaction between your personal cabinet and wallet. Whether you're stashing loot or spending gold, the experience now feels more fluid, enhancing your journey through the West.
A Touch of Realism:
We’ve fine-tuned the placement of environmental objects throughout HighNoon, bringing more authenticity to every corner of the landscape. The desert cacti, wooden cabins, and dusty trails now sit just right, adding that extra layer of immersion to every gunfight.
New Perks for Players:
Join as a Spectator:
Join as a spectator from the Waiting Room, letting you watch the action unfold before drawing your own six-shooter.
Bot Intelligence Upgrade:
Significant improvements to CPU performance for bots, especially for remote players, and smoother bot animation replication on all clients.
Bullet Optimization:
Enhanced bullet performance means fewer hit detection checks per frame, yet without losing the deadly accuracy we’re known for.
Animation Simplification:
We’ve also made it easier to swap out player animations by simplifying the process with Animator Override Controllers. Now, our animators can focus on making each move look just right.
With these updates, we’re setting the stage for a more intense, immersive, and polished HighNoon experience. Stay sharp, cowboys and cowgirls there’s plenty more to come on the horizon!
Treasury Update🚨:
We’re aware of the concerns regarding the treasury and want to reassure the community that this issue is being actively addressed. Our team is already working on a solution, and we’re confident in finding a fix that ensures smooth functionality moving forward. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work through this matter.
