Despite her injured paws, this mother dog never abandoned her puppies. Fortunately, someone with a kind heart showed up to help them all.

Everyone picks Cassavetes all the time because he is that good. Watch his movies and you will understand the reason why he is held in such high regard. It is never too late to explore filmmakers you haven't seen.
OK, I'll bite. If John Cassavetes is so insanely influential and brilliant, why have I not heard about him until recently? I've been on a side-quest with classic and esoteric movies, mostly through the Criterion collection. I've watched dozens of Criterion closet picks from filmmakers and actors I admire. They pick Cassavetes films ALL THE TIME. Probably more than any other director except Scorsese. I haven't seen a single Cassavetes film. I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about a Cassavetes film outside of those videos. I'm not a slouch on film, I've got a pretty wide spread on what I've seen & what I appreciate. How has Cassavetes slipped through that net so completely for so long?

This is what daytime and primetime soaps should be. Not necessarily tackling social issues but being both larger-than-life and intimate in emotional rawness at the same time.

Replying to @politicalmath
This is like saying a political issue isn't a problem because the people around me don't talk about it.

For the love of God, read your own tweet. You just started on these movies, so you didn’t know much about an indie filmmaker. That tracks. Yet you now that people who love these movies praise Cassavetes constantly in their Criterion Closet picks. SO WATCH A CASSAVETES MOVIE. Then watch another. And another. I don’t want to put too much pressure on you, but he’s also a fine actor.

I am supporting Beyond The Gates all the way. All soaps have had their 1st-2nd year slump and some later became classic soaps. Black folks have been begging Daytime for Black representation for decades. We have it now. I am happy for it. It works for ME!!! #BeyondTheGates
(Just getting Households & Total Viewers) Babies, when I say "Beyond the Gates" is on fire, ratings-wise, I mean it. Demos are rising to levels not seen since the first few weeks of the show's debut, and it's now gunning for that 1.8 million viewership average. #BeyondTheGates.

One of the most memorable soap opera reads of all time starts at the 4-minute mark. I am slightly concerned that I will never, ever win an award because of fear that I might deliver a speech like this. 🤭 #AMC #AllMyChildren

John Carpenter's The Fog - an atmospheric chiller that's more about tension than scares. A well-cast ensemble gives credibility to this old-fashioned ghost story. It has fine cinematography by Dean Cundey & a quietly haunting score from Carpenter. A subtle slice of genre cinema.

I know the result for Sexiest Man Alive seems strange, but keep in mind this is the first year I wasn’t eligible.

One “New Hollywood” film, directed by Michael Ritchie, that deserves more attention.
Gene Hackman and Robert Redford in "Downhill Racer," directed by Michael Ritchie and written by James Salter, 1969. Roger Ebert gave the film four out of four stars, calling it "the best movie ever made about sports—without really being about sports at all."

#RIP Susan Saint James. She described Sally McMillan as “nutty & goofy … she’s married to Rock Hudson, they live a very sophisticated life, they have a very nice house. She doesn’t do anything right, she gets him involved in all her terrible happenings.” hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-…

Rest in peace to an early crush, Susan Saint James. I think the first thing I saw her in was the sequel to The Trouble with Angels. She was 21 playing a high school girl so the same year (‘68) was an easy transition to a more adult role on The Name of The Game.

My mom, who turns 99 in December, came home from an extended hospital stay last week and today while visiting I came across this photo of her and my dad during her early ‘70s brief redhead period. At the risk of sounding creepy, I think she was objectively kind of a hottie.
