New week, new MOU: Holo Ventures and @coasys_dao have agreed to support each other's success. First step: Coasys will accept HoloFuel as payment for its services.
Coasys is evolvable collaboration software. You invite local and cloud LLMs into your group to help you do work and — in a brilliant twist — also help you reshape the software itself.
It's no surprise that some of our first Decent Directory members are AI-adjacent. Never before have we had the power to create our own digital tools, but with that comes the risk of being at the mercy of an even more powerful class of tool makers.
Like Holochain, Coasys is about "choice architecture". The users are the best people to choose what works for them.
You're all tool makers now. Choose the tools you can wield well, not the ones that wield you.

Holo Ventures has signed an MOU with Lightningrod Labs to bring their products to market, starting with the groupware app, Moss. 🧵
Moss is local-first group communication and collaboration that doesn’t need servers. It keeps working where fibre doesn’t reach, when networks are saturated (events) or down (disasters), and wherever privacy is essential, like medical clinics or stealth startups.
It’s open source, built on @holochain, and already in daily use. Together we’ll make it mature enough for more groups to adopt, including enterprises, civic institutions, and regen networks, so they can own their infrastructure without becoming IT experts.

Being the voice of @H_O_L_O_ and @Holochain through every chapter, the launches and the long stretches alike, has been one of the great privileges of my career. What I'm proudest of isn't any single moment, it's the community we built and held together, through the calm and the storms.

Woah! Imagine that. A crypto currency payment system where the amount you pay for the value you receive doesn't change on a whale's whim.
Take a look at this screenshot. It’s from a Holo host’s Unyt app, and it shows their invoices getting paid in HoloFuel. Hosting, logging, billing, and settlement, all working without a payment processor. Cha-ching.
It gets exciting when you realise that cloud hosting is only one of the use cases.
- For the curious nerds, this host is running Holochain’s Wind Tunnel workload and billing for minutes. The HF amounts and invoicing intervals don’t represent how this workload will be billed in the future (that’s why they’re blanked) but everything is real.
- Suppliers and customers agree on the economics of the arrangement and use Unyt smart agreements + Holo’s log collector/harvester to automate it.
