Grinding != spamming pugs/games. Unfortunately, most kids don't know how to grind properly and focus on the wrong things.
Focus on the macro. Think about the game, the map, your positions. Be able to walk people through not only "how to defend this position" but "why do you want to defend this position, when do you give it up, what do you do once you lose control of it, and how does it affect you if you don't have control of it"
Positioning yourself to be picked up is only a part of the equation. Not crashing out shortly after is another part. If you fumble a big opportunity, you might not find one again for a long, long time.
