The 2027 Presidential Election Algorithim will be settled by Jamuhuri Day. Yours truly will call the election on Wednesday 16th December 2026, God willing. Then we grab popcorn for another 238 days after that

Allow me to weigh in on the Presidential Results Livestreaming debate. I was present throughout the tallying process at KICC in 2007 and Bomas of Kenya in 2013, 2017 and 2022. As such, I feel I owe the nation a historical perspective. We need all results livestreamed as the hard copy Form 34s get verified at the National Tallying Centre. But this is not enough. As IEBC receives the individual results from the Constituencies, they need to run an unverified national tally at the time of updating the public portal. So we will have two tallies for Presidential results per constituency - Verified and Unverified. The former based on electronic forms and the latter based on hard copies. Then Kenyans and observers can judge whether there is any Jose Camargo in the middle. If there is none in 2027, we run 2032 based purely on electronic forms and save the country that meaningless drama at Bomas. My 2 cents

A country moves forward when we stop shouting at each other and start listening to each other. I was in Mombasa for the Economists Society of Kenya Annual Economists Conference 2026 today where I delivered the keynote address on Kenya’s economic performance, looking at our progress as a country our challenges and the work that lies ahead. When assessing Kenya's economic performance, we must begin with facts and not opinions. Kenya has faced several external shocks, including the effects of COVID-19, a severe drought that has never been witnessed for 40 years, the Russia–Ukraine war, and tensions in the Middle East. Kenya has maintained a general path of economic growth despite these challenges. Our position as one of Africa's largest economies reflects years of sustained economic activity. We have made progress in key areas such as exchange rate stability, inflation, sugar reforms, and milk and coffee sector reforms. In 2024, our economy grew by 4.7%, but we still have work to do on industrialisation and exports, public debt, the cost of power, and access to affordable credit. Fellow Kenyans, let us take economic discussions beyond conference halls and make them useful to the people. Let us explain the numbers in a way Kenyans can understand, question what is not working, and offer practical solutions. We may disagree on policies, but we should never stop talking. We must give credit where progress has been made and be honest where things are going wrong. Thank you to the Economists Society of Kenya for creating a platform where different views can be heard. Kenya needs more of these conversations.

To all public officers who wish to resign to contest seats in the General Electuons, you have exactly 4 months left today. If you love this great nation, I would encourage you not to wait for the cut off date. Leave now to give government to re-organise and avoid disruption of key services. Kazi ni mingi masaa ni machache

This morning, I took time to interact with Kenyans at the Agriculture Summit in Nairobi. I am amazed by Kenyans' hunger for success. The hard work, The innovation, The enthusiasm of youth and women to produce, add value and trade. They need support kidogo tu and we revolutionize this country. But sadly, we as a country and a leadership are not listening to them. If we do not focus on PRODUCTION and putting money in people's pockets, if we do not create real jobs, every other achievement will amount to nothing. It's a ticking time bomb. I hope we smell the coffee before it is too late.

I wish my good friend Dr Oburu Oginga quick recovery. What he needs is maximum space to recuperate. But tell me why some people in this country who celebrated Baba's death are the same people sponsoring all these fake news? You will all burn in hell.
