Last Friday’s exhibition was sort of the ultimate WoCo retro hoops event. @CoachMKYoung being honored. Tons of former players. @CoachGiltner, first of all. I also saw Spencer Collins, Drew Crowell, Sam Daniels, a bunch of others.
And a great game!
Wofford trying to get the win over Kent State. Important tidbit of information: Kent State is where the gray band Devo was formed.

Alright!!
3⭐️ Guard Nylan Rush (@Nyrush22) has committed to @WoffordMBB!
The 6’3” Combo Guard out of Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, North Carolina is rated as the #12 player in the state of North Carolina per @On3 and Top 300 nationally.
He averaged 23.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 3.3 steals & 1.4 blocks in his junior season for the Pride.
Fantastic!!
A Terrier legend, really.

Lots of attention on this discussion today. Folks seem to think @JayBilas had upper hand. And could be. But does his logic apply to mid-majors, where coaches get paid well but not all near 7 figures, schools don’t see massive revenue, & rosters are nearly eradicated each year?
If they’d had the transfer portal back then, you can only imagine where #52 might have ended up. And with how many dollars.
Former @WoffordMBB assistant coach…
"I'll be perfectly honest. I didn't like myself at Chattanooga," Shulman said. "I figured out after a while that I wasn't in it for the kids. I was in it for me and for my contract, because our family loved Chattanooga so much." timesfreepress.com/news/2026…
That is Greg O’Dell. He was a D2 WoCo guy — and outrageously good at basketball. If it’d been transfer/NIL times, he’d likely have had the chance to move over to ACC or SEC. Instead, he was PBK at Wofford, very successful career, now a WoCo trustee. Interesting how things can go.
Thinking about things that kind of might not have happened in the NIL/transfer portal times. Hard to know for sure. Anyway, this was really cool. Wofford vs. Georgia Tech…a few years ago, in a different era.

Incredibly proud of the dudes! They, among others, are great examples of “HARD WORK PAYS OFF! “ ⚫️🟡
