"Civility is the form of socially acceptable behaviour, consisting in essence of a set of constraints slowly developed by social cohabitation. These norms of civility, or practical virtue are valid for all interpersonal communications..." My book (2026) is beyond 1.000 accesses.

CIvil economy is a direction of economic thought, which can be traced back to the work of Antonio Genovesi (1713-1769), "the professor granted the chair of Economics, the first of its kind in the world, at the University of Naples in 1753",... the chair of Civil Economics" 1/
What do you think of the philosophy of economics, usually referred to as civil economy, and its crucial figures, including Stefano Zamagni and Luigino Bruni?

Analytical conservatism - in three steps. STEP 1. "...descriptive metaphysics is the kind represented by Aristotle, by the commonsense philosophy of Thomas Reid, and the ordinary language philosophy of J. L. Austin and Strawson himself." 1/
My essay “The Metaphysical Foundations of Conservatism” appeared in the 2022 anthology Dissident Philosophers, edited by T. Allan Hillman and Tully Borland. I notice that it has been posted at PhilArchive: philarchive.org/archive/EDWT…

Did the German Jesuits like Gundlach, Pesch and Nell-Breuning participate in this tradition in some way?

The answer is apparently yes. AI: "While the German Jesuit tradition (Solidarism) and the Italian tradition (Civil Economy) developed in different regions, they ultimately merged into the modern Vatican framework that Stefano Zamagni operates within today." We need to work on it.

See Northrop Frye on romance.
“My work is not a ‘novel’, but an ‘heroic romance’ a much older and quite different variety of literature.” - J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 329

There are as many histories, as participants and eyewitnesses of history. These are parallel, often overlaping universes.

What a symbolic gesture!

What a company! This conversation of great minds is what we lack today.

The Turk's Head, Soho In 1764 Joshua Reynolds, the leading portrait painter of his day, founded a dining club with Samuel Johnson, the man behind the great English Dictionary. They met at the Turk's Head tavern and called it simply The Club. Members included Edmund Burke, David Garrick, the most famous actor of his age, Adam Smith of The Wealth of Nations, the historian Edward Gibbon, and James Boswell, Johnson's biographer. The pub is long gone, but The Club still meets today at Brooks's, the gentlemen's club in St James's.

The Pinafore Room, The Savoy, London Churchill was thought too controversial for The Club, so he started his own in 1911: The Other Club. Rule 12: "Nothing in the rules or intercourse of the Club shall interfere with the rancour or asperity of party politics." Translation: fight all day, dine together at night.

Cover art for my co-edited volume with @HorcherF on the Ritter School! We introduce their post-war German political thought to English speaking audiences, examining the question of how to pick up the pieces amidst the “ruins” of civilizational collapse.

Great to see the book cover of our multi-authored publication project co-edited with @ryan_holston , about the most important school of post-war German moderate conservatism. It comes out early next year.

It’s crucial! And not focused on often enough. Aquinas and the Market is another good book. Also so much from CST that applies. Important also to save capitalism without it becoming crony or an easy pastiche which socialism attacks.

That seems to be an important account. A further question might concern their relationship to the young Leo Strauss.
I strongly recommend Gershom Scholem's wonderful account of his friendship with Walter Benjamin.

STEP 2. "This approach to metaphysical investigation is, I submit, pretty closely parallel to what a Burke, Oakeshott, or Scruton would say about the conservative approach to evaluating moral and political practices and institutions." 2/

STEP 3. "This is no accident, because, as I will argue, the latter is implicitly grounded in the former. It is because our commonsense metaphysics of human beings and their world gets the first word that traditional moral and political arrangements also get the first word." 3/3
