The situation for the Conservative Party is worse than you think. The difficulty lies, however, in explaining how serious it is without falling into the language of hyperbole. So, I shall simply list some developments as dispassionately as I can. 🧵

Not sure anyone will do anything now but it’s dangerous here at Wembley. Lack of police presence and so many people without tickets. 🤞🏼

On my daily exercise route a new pavement ‘beastie’ - the discarded face mask - has become more prevalent than dog pooh. Am I alone or unlucky in experiencing this?

Electricity is crucial to our economic future. Sign up now to hear about progress on our only new Nuclear Generation plant being built. Will there be another? With decommissioning of 13% of our current nuclear generation underway, what will fill the gap? #ConversationsThatMatter

Have used this with #leaders and it creates great discussions.
I've used this tool for many years for training, coaching and consulting and it's one of the few charts where you will see most people in the room react as it sinks in :- "Yes that was the problem!" and I could never find the source, so many thanks for that

Whoa! 😱Charles II as King as part of the ‘restoration’ set up the act that led to the formation of the Royal Africa Company fronted by Edward Colston to partake in the slavery trade from which he as the King took 50% of the profits! Not a great choice. mol.im/a/8473981
⁦@NShann⁩ ⁦@AndrewPMunro⁩ ⁦@Robertpbolton⁩ Is this the new ‘Cummings’ way of #leadership? Downing Street forced to deny Boris Johnson wore an earpiece at PMQs mol.im/a/8384507

Dominic Cummings has now admitted repeatedly breaking the lockdown rules. Of course, he thinks he has an excuse - that those rules didn’t really apply to him - but we absolutely do not agree. Please RT if you don’t either.

Eisenhower would have liked this very useful checklist - a master of planning who post WW2 with John Foster Dulles at the State Dept put together the US Cold War strategy
Eisenhower: “plans are nothing, planning is everything” applies very much to post Covid-19 workforce shaping. #workforceshaping #evidencebasedhr #futureofhr #workforceofthefuture

Business leaders are very similar: The tell people what to do, not to question nor to think. Outcome: Organisations that are reluctant to learn and change to compete in the news post Covid-19 world.
"often they encounter professors, especially in the social sciences and humanities, who are more interested in teaching them what to think than how to think" Monks in High Towers: A Plea to Our Fellow Academics - Quillette quillette.com/2017/01/06/mon… via @Quillette
Workforce transformation in a COVID-19 world home.kpmg/uk/en/home/insight…. Out ability to predict is at its lowest but the need to plan for and build a workforce for the future is at its highest. So what to do?

Epoch defining times. In the future we will still refer to BC and AD as a way of distinguishing a major divide in human history. But now it will be Before Covid and After Disease. It’ll be a more profound demarcation than we can currently imagine #COVID19

The dreadful #coronavirus might force a rethink of the criteria for party #selection of #political candidates This generation is simply not up to the current #leadership challenge

A colander with more holes from Chancellor in his help for self-employed especially if you were tempted by Tory manifesto to start a new business and did this after 2018/19 tax year or have a limited company. The answer sign up for Universal Credit. Poor. mol.im/a/8157871

Seems that the Banks are out to profiteer from Covid 19 by hiking their overdraft fees just as many will be forced to use this to survive. The Chancellor should stamp this out now or threaten eye watering fines to maintain ‘we are in it together’ mantra. mol.im/a/8140991
Many of the Self Employed are not necessarily socialists but with the Chancellor having fundamentally made PAYE tax payers State employees why has he excluded 18.5% of people who pay their tax via Self Assessment? How are ‘we all in this together’ if 5m are execluded?
It’s dawning on people that there are huge gaping holes in yesterday’s Chancellor’s statement. We must urge him to shift once more to protect the wages of the self employed by including them in the jobs retention scheme & to raise the level of sick pay to the real living wage.
