No, the Rashtrakuta (8th–10th century) and Chalukya (Badami/Western, 6th–12th century) dynasties were Kannadiga rulers native to the Karnataka/Deccan region. Their inscriptions are in Kannada, capitals in Karnataka (Manyakheta, Badami), and they promoted Kannada literature/culture.
They ruled vast empires spanning parts of modern Maharashtra, but the Maratha ethnic identity and empire arose centuries later (17th century onward). Regional heritage claims exist on both sides, but primary sources tie them to Kannadiga origins.
True the scarcity & the cobra effect theory fits into the Indian context the most . The poor masses always try to maximize their benefits from the govt even if there is no need mostly due to greed .
Kannada unity is a facade. There was no need to bring in nk& sk angle here . Sometimes I wonder if the unity is just a mask to peddle their own agendas .Bringing regions just for political catfights is low Iq. People are free to adore or despise ex 👑. But mocking choices 👎👎

u're portraying a speculative prediction as an inevitable outcome. like it's not necessary that karnataka has to collapse for U.p to grow rapidly . TN can grow its manufacturing base without the rest of the South becoming irrelevant
