Russia’s NPTsAP presented a prototype of a laser-guidance kit for 80 mm rockets at Army-2023. It uses four laser receivers mounted on the rocket’s fins to detect reflected laser energy and guide rocket toward an illuminated target, similar in concept to APKWS laser-guidance kit.

JUST IN: Ireland is also facing a cyberattack targeting supermarket refrigeration systems.
Refrigeration systems at 13 SuperValu stores have been affected, forcing fresh, chilled and frozen products to be removed from sale and discarded.
Musgrave, which owns SuperValu, confirmed the incident was limited to a specific model of refrigeration equipment. Monitoring systems detected the issue, prompting an immediate response.
Several stores, including SuperValu in Bray, County Wicklow, were delayed in opening this morning.
The company is working with cybersecurity specialists to restore normal operations.
Ireland now joins Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg and Estonia in reporting cyberattacks targeting supermarket refrigeration systems this morning.

Images reportedly show a new configuration of China’s Yitian-L short-range air-defense system, developed by NORINCO.
The standard Yitian-L is mounted on a Dongfeng Mengshi 4×4 vehicle and reportedly features a radar with a detection range of up to 18 km (11 miles). It carries four TY-90 missiles, which are said to have a range of up to 6 km (3.7 miles) and an engagement altitude of up to 4 km (2.5 miles).
The newly photographed variant reportedly carries 12 missiles instead of four, potentially increasing its capacity to engage multiple targets. The configuration may be intended for export customers, although this has not been confirmed.
The TY-90 missile, originally developed in the 1990s for use against aerial targets by helicopters, has been incorporated into several air-defense concepts and platforms, including Shengong-2, Hunter-1, Yitian and earlier Yitian-L configurations.

Russia has completed demonstration firing tests of the Plot-47 floating weapons platform on Lake Ladoga in the Leningrad region.
According to regional governor Alexander Drozdenko, the prototype is equipped with a Narval combat module, which reportedly engaged all targets simulating aerial and maritime drones during the tests.
The platform was developed by regional companies at Drozdenko’s request, with participation from the Naval Council of the Leningrad Region. Its modular design is intended to accommodate different detection and countermeasure systems, with future crewless configurations also planned.
The project is intended to support the protection of ports, naval bases and energy infrastructure against drone threats.
The reported test results have not been independently verified.

On the Austrian Armed Forces Day, they demonstrated the SP-30 turret (for the ASCOD Ulan) equipped with the GuardAero APS1 active protection system against UAVs (FPV drones).
The GuardAero APS1 uses 360° optical detection and a shotgun-based weapon system to intercept drones at close range.
What distinguishes this system from many other similar startups is that the developers demonstrated the defeat of maneuvering FPVs from a fast-moving vehicle, confirming the viability of the concept. See the test video.
There are at least a dozen patents and prototypes with a similar principle, but all of them have not proven their viability in practice, remaining at the level of claims or blueprints. Here, however, one can see a genuinely promising (relatively inexpensive and scalable in terms of the weapon system) direction that will be able to partially solve the FPV problem.
