Marcus Townend Fundraiser About Marcus After time with local newspapers and the Sporting Life, he worked for the Daily Mail for 35 years, graduating to becoming its racing editor and correspondent – a diligent, principled, talented and tenacious journalist. Marcus's accident It is nearly a year since Marcus fell off his bike and suffered the first of three bleeds in his brain. Three months later, he had gradually recovered well enough from the first two to spend a month at home. The third bleed, which occurred at the end of March, following a plate insertion to repair his skull, proved the most damaging, from which he is still recuperating. Too late, he was finally diagnosed in July to have mild haemophilia. Despite his amazing determination to communicate clearly, self care and mobilise, he will require ongoing neurophysiotherapy and much care from others to achieve his independent potential. How you can help? This year's HWPA Derby Awards Lunch (Monday 7th December) will be combined with a fundraiser for Marcus.. 1. Straight Donation - join the many simply donating... justgiving.com/crowdfunding/… 2. Join the Wall of Supporters for the lunch - not only can you attend the lunch (£140 per head) using the form below, you can also join the list of company logos/sponsors that will form the backdrop form.jotform.com/26262629171… 3. Contribute a Silent Auction Prize - we will be running a silent auction in the weeks building up to the lunch with the auction finishing on the day. We'd love to add some more lots so if you'd like to donate something then email me [email protected]

One can only presume that Adam Boulton will be popping on to Sky News to discuss Dermot Murnaghan's virginity, relationships & age rather than his vast successful career & achievements, following his tragic death this week. Can't wait to hear all about it.

When Jo Cox was murdered, journalists didn’t discuss her sexual appetites. Because why the fuck would you?

see @DailyMirror running stories about an inconsequential 'last text' from Ann Widdecombe as if this is some revelation. Whatever happened to standards of decency. So much of this nonsense now passed for 'journalism' It most certainly is not.

Do you have £5.30 to spare? If you do, please sponsor this amazing fundraiser (#53 is Barney’s number, but more or less ££ gratefully received). ⬇️ These people have held us up (quite literally at times) over the past three years of horror. We’ve know them for over 15 years. We ‘met’ when Barney came home from nursery being ‘bitten’ by Tom. His new best friend!! The boys were like brothers ever since… 🫶Carol, Albert, Tom & Emily really are like family. The loss of our boy hit them hard. But what it did do was encourage them to think about themselves, their own lives and health. Carol and Albert have lost over 16 stone between them (not a needle in sight either!). 🥾Two years ago walking from the car to home was an effort. This weekend they are hiking over 50k in the ‘Race to the Stones’ ultra event to raise money for Barney’s foundation. 👏 Please applaud them; share if you can, and donate if you wish. Most of all; another reminder that there is more good than bad out there. However it often feels. 💚💛 justgiving.com/page/carol-sm…

Just because there is footage of Anthony Joshua being extracted from the car that has just crashed killing two people, does not mean that that footage needs to be aired….

Unbelievable Billy is a true legend and will always be remembered as the greatest player for the club. He was my hero and when we bought him from Charlton he became my favourite player. I wish his family and friends my sincerest condolences⚒️⚒️
