Russian bot traffic has dropped to nearly 0 after Ukraine struck a Yandex data center in Vladimir, Russia
Ukrainian drones struck three Yandex data centres in Russia, shutting down two and crippling the third. The attacks disrupted more than 80 services, including banking, transport and cloud infrastructure, following Russian strikes on Ukrainian data centres.

Put another way, consumer prices would've DECLINED the past two years without the tariffs. Brutal.
New from @NewYorkFed: Trump's 2025-26 tariffs contributed 2.9 percentage points to US goods price inflation, via higher prices for imports AND domestic goods. Without the tariffs, "goods prices would have fallen slightly." 😯

This should be considered a 5-alarm democracy fire.
Trump administration refuses international election monitors for first time in over 2 decades. The decision not to invite observers from the OSCE puts the U.S. alongside Russia and Belarus, while the Justice Department prepares to deploy its own poll monitors. ms.now/news/trump-midterms-o…

More good news on House opposition to the ACC Protection Act.
News: Sen. Ted Cruz has been adamant the House will pass his Protect College Sports Act quickly. But House Majority Leader Steve Scalise said that won’t be the case and the bill likely won’t even pass as-is. Scalise told The Sun that there are “differences between the House and the Senate” on the legislation that will be “addressed in some amendments that will keep the focus of the bill on letting the schools govern themselves.” “There's some good elements in the bill, but you saw there were some other problems that a number of our chairmen of the committees of jurisdiction in the House have with that bill, that would need to be fixed,” Scalise said. Saban and Calipari can spare me the sanctimonious BS about "Saving College Sports." What they really despise is the players having more control than the coaches, and not having a monopoly on blue-chip talent. Now that the playing field has been leveled, its a problem for them.

People say the transfer portal and paying players is gonna permanently harm college football, but what will actually do it is creating matchups no one cares about via conference realignment, making the regular season near-worthless and making the postseason less interesting. I’ve never seen a league work so hard to make itself less compelling and interesting.
CFP leaders are closer than ever to expanding to a 24-team playoff. They are talking buyouts of conference title games and scheduling logistics of doubling the field. Foregone conclusion? “If we can get a decent (TV) deal, we are definitely going to 24.” bit.ly/4jv642P

If athletes create less value, then surely universities would be comfortable letting the free market decide, no?
This morning on ESPN's First Take, Nick Saban argued player and coach pay are "totally different markets." "That's like asking me 'Does a student's scholarship equal the professor's pay?' I mean, how much value does a coach create for a university?" 📺 💰️

Barack Obama at his last press briefing with reporters, 2017: "I have enjoyed working with all of you. That does not, of course, mean that I've enjoyed every story that you have filed, but that's the point of this relationship. You're not supposed to be sycophants. You're supposed to be skeptics. You're supposed to ask me tough questions. You're not supposed to be complimentary, but you're supposed to cast a critical eye on folks who hold enormous power."

Every single solution you'll read to "fix college sports" is bad for players. Restricting them in some way or just paying them less or whatever. There are zero exceptions. The train is on time every single day. Never the coaches or ADs or anyone like that. Always the players.
Audibly scoffed at this. Ah yes, the growth *from zero* in athlete pay has been dramatic and fast. In coach and AD pay, the growth hasn't been as dramatic. Because it was already high. So you see, our pay is actually quite sustainable! It's the players that are the problem.

I’m so tired of people who see an amazing college football player at a school that isn’t Georgia/Ohio State/etc and immediately speculate about him transferring out. What an exhausting and, frankly, terrible way to consume college football.
If Kamario Taylor wants to make $10 million playing somewhere next year, he will. Hard to believe Mississippi State retains him, unless he’s the most loyal player in CFB lol
