Who gets the house?
Replying to @Auriel_zy
Me: I need to tell you something, but I’m scared you’ll never look at me the same way again. He sat beside me and took my hand. Husband: Whatever it is, talk to me. I pulled my hand away, unable to bear his kindness. Me: I cheated on you during the trip. It happened once. I know that doesn’t make it better, and I have no excuse for what I did. I’ve regretted it every single day since it happened. He stared at me as though he hadn’t understood the words. Husband: You cheated on me? I nodded, crying. Husband: While you were away, I was here telling the children how much their mother deserved a break. I was happy you were enjoying yourself. He looked away and rubbed his face with both hands. Husband: Was there something wrong with our marriage? Were you unhappy with me? Me: No. You didn’t do anything wrong. This was my decision, and I’m not going to blame you for it. He stood up and walked into our bedroom. I followed him, but when I reached for his arm, he stepped away. Husband: Please. Just give me a minute. I spent that night crying in the living room. He slept in the bedroom with the door locked. The following morning, he made breakfast for the children as usual. He packed their lunches, reminded them to finish their homework, and kissed them goodbye. Watching him carry on with his responsibilities while his world was falling apart hurt in a way I cannot explain. After the children left, he called me into the living room. Husband: Do you remember when my mother passed away? You stayed by my side through everything, even when I had nothing to say. You kept reminding me that I wasn’t alone. I nodded, crying. Husband: I never forgot that. That’s why I can’t understand how the woman who helped me through my darkest days could be the same woman who would hurt me like this. Me: I’m sorry. I know those words aren’t enough, but I am so sorry. He shook his head. Husband: I believe you’re sorry. But I don’t know what to do with the fact that I trusted you completely, and you knew exactly how much that trust meant to me. I reached for his hand, but he pulled it away. Husband: I can’t comfort you right now. You’re crying because you regret what happened. I’m sitting here trying to understand whether the marriage I thought I had is even real anymore. That was the moment I understood that my guilt was not the biggest pain in the room. His was. Me: Are you going to leave me? He looked at me for a long time before answering. Husband: I don’t know. And I don’t want to make that decision today. We have children, we have years together, and I still love you. But loving you doesn’t mean I can pretend you didn’t hurt me. I lowered my head. Husband: If we stay together, I need more than apologies. I need honesty. I need you to understand that I may have questions next week, next month, or even next year. I may have days when I look at you and remember this all over again. I can’t promise you that I’ll get over it quickly. Me: I understand. Husband: No, you don’t. Not yet. But I hope you will. A few days later, he agreed to attend marriage counselling with me. He told me he wasn’t making any promises about our future. He was simply willing to see whether we could understand what had happened and decide what came next. For the first time, I understood that saying sorry was only the beginning. I had broken the trust of someone who had always stood by me, and I couldn’t expect him to heal just because I regretted what I had done. I don’t know whether our marriage will survive this, but I know one thing: I wish I had understood the value of his trust before I gave him a reason to question it.

You should see my portfolio.
Scholarship applications are now open for the last 4 spots of this inaugural Jon Anik Broadcasting Seminar. JABS feels like the biggest initiative of my professional life, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring this vision to reality and open the doors for the next generation of sports broadcasters. For decades, I’ve been blessed to call some of the biggest moments in combat sports history, sit Octagon-side for world title fights, and work with the finest production teams in the world. As rewarding as that journey has been, nothing compares to the chance to pass the torch, pull back the curtain, and give back to a broadcasting community that has given me so much. This isn’t just another workshop—it is a comprehensive, high-intensity immersion into the craft, the discipline, and the business of sports broadcasting. We are bringing together established industry professionals and passionate, aspiring talents under one roof for an unprecedented, two-day masterclass. Whether it’s mastering live play-by-play execution, refining fight-week preparation, content creation, or building an authentic personal brand, JABS is designed to give you the blueprint to thrive in this competitive, cutthroat industry. Stepping into this role and spearheading this project represents a massive personal and professional milestone for me. I’m pouring my entire play-by-play preparation, every lesson learned from the booth, and the full weight of my network into making this event a game changer for everyone who attends. December can’t come soon enough...see you in Las Vegas.

Worse than mortgage fraud.
Dillon Danis is out of this weekend’s fight against Mike Perry. Perry just announced it at the pre-fight presser. “No communication,” I’m told. Brandon Jenkins is replacing him.

You should've gotten her a 20-year-old house
Raising a daughter who gets so excited about owning a 20-year-old Toyota Corolla is a job well done.

Too many lives have been cut short by high-speed, illegal e-bikes and e-scooters. That’s why we are issuing cease-and-desist orders against 42 online retailers that have been selling these dangerous devices to New York City residents — including Target, Temu, Wayfair, Walmart, and Amazon.  The safety of New Yorkers is not for sale.

If you have a second home in New York City worth more than $5M, check your mailbox when you’re back in the five boroughs — because you've got mail. Today, we sent notification letters to property owners, letting them know that our new pied-à-terre tax is coming soon. The best city in the world deserves the best parks, libraries, and schools in the world. That's only possible when we all pay our fair share.

House?
"I would buy [my father] a house if he was willing to get sober... He's at the point where he's choosing alcohol over [everything]... He has grandkids, great grandkids that he's never met because of alcohol, and it just sucks, man... He wants to drink until he dies." Dustin Poirier reflects on the difficult relationship he had with his father.
