Hear from ILM leaders Janet Lewin (SVP, General Manager) and John Knoll (Executive Creative Director) and Lucasfilm's Doug Chiang (SVP, Executive Design Director) as they share how a team of artists, innovators, and dreamers transformed filmmaking — and continue to push the boundaries of what's possible.

Our ILM team has traveled pretty far into the future since we worked on a certain project with director Robert Zemeckis back in 1985. That’s a lot of gigawatts! From all of us here, happy Back to the Future Day!
"My favorite aspect of the piece is the interplay between the stark foreground silhouette and the powerful background light beam, which catches the atmospheric dust to create a distinct god-ray effect.” Said Senior Concept Artist Jacek Irzykowski about his work on Disney’s new production of Moana.

#Whalefall had me on the edge of my seat. What a WILD ride! The sounds & visuals had my stomach churning (in a good way). Austin Abrams & Josh Brolin are amazing together! Didnt expect to get emotional. A beautiful exploration of grief. Let Austin do a RomCom next - the poor guy!
Our ILM team was joined by Lucasfilm Co-President Lynwen Brennan along with the cast and crew at the world premiere of WHALEFALL! 🌊 An exciting night celebrating the film and the incredible artistry behind it.

It's always a treat when the U.S. Navy Blue Angels are in town for Fleet Week SF. Here are a few shots from last week's practice session, taken from our San Francisco headquarters.
Colleagues from across ILM, Lucasfilm, and Skywalker Sound came together for our annual Trivia Night at both our San Francisco headquarters and Burbank studio. Together everyone raised over $100,000 for charity while being quizzed on topics that ranged across popular culture and beyond...but with only one Star Wars question!
