One of the strategic priorities of @PASAI_HQ is strengthening #PFM through advocating for #SAIindependence. In a workshop led by Benjamin Fuentes Castro of @INTOSAI_IDI , the PASAI Congress explored some of the informal factors that impact SAI independence.

Archana Shirsat from @INTOSAI_IDI introduced the #SoAQM Playbook, aiding SAIs in aligning with ISSAI 140 standards. Junior Patrick, Auditor General of the Marshall Islands, discussed adapting the Yellow Book’s Chapter 5, highlighting its flexibility for smaller SAIs.

Freddy Ndjemba moderated the final Joint Seminar panel. Mr. Hix @USGAO , highlighted #GlobalProject on #SAIIndependence, a joint effort of @INTOSAI_IDI , @IMFNews , @OECD , @WorldBank, & @INTOSAI_GS which will result in recs to OECD members on adoption of independence principles.

The 2nd #INTOSAI Joint Seminar panel, moderated by Ms Meisie Nkau, @AFROSAIE CEO, looked at the importance of partnering in #SAI #development. Mr. Ceesay, Auditor-General @NAOGambia , shared key factors in The Gambia’s success, incl institutionalizing reforms & mgmt commitment.

Mr. Gorrissen @INTOSAI_lDI, emphasized the importance of partnerships w/in #INTOSAI & growing partnerships w/ #civilsocietyorganizations, accountancy organizations, and donors. Mr. Lee White, @IFAC CEO, reflected on delivering results w/ limited resources to achieve common goals.

...Although funding & timing may be complex & SAIs have capacity constraints to meet the growing workload of donor audit expectations, having the right framework, identifying agreement on expectations, timeframes, & scope of audit, & partnerships are all key. @The_Cooperation
