Powered by the Reform Express of PM Modi Ji with a New ORD Act, New PNG Rules, New Framework Contract, Revised EPS Norms and the Samudra Manthan Mission, India’s E&P sector is gaining momentum. Delighted to witness the DSF Bid Round IV Contract Awards & Release of Samudra Manthan Operational Guidelines today. Energy is the fulcrum of India’s economy and the engine of Viksit Bharat under the leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji. With India set to drive about 30% of global incremental energy demand over the next two decades, and with 88% of our crude oil and about 50% of our natural gas still imported, the way forward is simple is to produce more and depend less. Active exploration has increased to 12 % of the country's sedimentary basin area and, with the award of OALP-X and XI blocks, is expected to reach 19%.  81% of the active exploration area has been awarded after 2014, underscoring the scale and impact of the reforms undertaken over the past decade Our target is to reach 1 million sqkm of exploration acreage by 2030. DSF Bid Round IV was launched on 15 April 2025. It offered 55 discoveries, grouped into nine contract areas across five sedimentary basins, covering 6,133.02 sqkm. Three onland areas account for 1,120.91 square kilometres; six offshore areas cover 5,012.11 square kilometres. Together, these 55 discoveries hold an estimated 260 million tonnes of oil equivalent of in-place volume. 9 new private sector players participated in DSF-IV which shows that reform is meaningful when it improves the terms on which companies can invest, take technical decisions and bring fields into production.  India's domestic hydrocarbon production will receive a boost through the visionary Samudra Manthan programme, launched by PM Modi Ji, which aims to unlock offshore resources through new seismic surveys, shared drilling costs for around 60 deep- and ultra-deep-water wells, and common offshore infrastructure. Delighted to sign a landmark Government-to-Government MoU on oil & gas cooperation with Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection of Mauritius, Sh. John Michaël Tzoun Sao Yeung Sik Yuen, alongside a 5-year agreement between @IndianOilcl and the State Trading Corporation of Mauritius for the assured supply of petroleum products to Mauritius. The agreement will meet Mauritius’ requirements of petrol, diesel, marine gas oil and Aviation Turbine Fuel - providing long-term supply certainty, greater price stability and enhanced energy security, while supporting the nation’s mobility, connectivity and economic growth. Building on an energy partnership that goes back to 2001, when IndianOil began serving Mauritius through IndianOil Mauritius Limited, this milestone reflects India’s reliability and commitment as a trusted energy partner.
