My statement on the anniversary of the October 7th terrorist attacks:
Earlier this week Consul General O’Shea had a useful introductory meeting with the Deputy Chief of the Bavarian Police, Markus Trebes, and presented him with examples of Ireland’s new passports, to be used for training purposes by border and other specialised police units.
These include highly advanced dynamic imaging technologies, innovative antenna designs embedded within the document itself, sophisticated holographic protections and enhanced personalised imagery that make counterfeiting extraordinarily difficult.
Inspired by Ireland’s landscapes, heritage and natural world, the new passport was developed with input from more than 15,000 people through a public consultation. All Irish passports issued since 26 June use this new design. More information: lnkd.in/daKvNjeP
