No, yeah. Some of his dialogue is misogynistic, and he's made a few microaggressions, particularly towards Zaid & Natalia (bringing up Zaid's rough family life and Natalia's dialogue). It's a mystery why people think he's a bigot, truly!

"gringo" is neither a slur or only used to refer to white people + americans/british. it's a term with the literal meaning of "foreigner", applying to anybody who isn't latino and/or didn't grow up or is overall uneducated about the culture.
