Most breakfast cereals are fortified with folic acid, which has proven to have certain health benefits. However, it has also shown to increase the risk of prostate cancer due to its role in cell division. Begone, B9! #MakeCerealGreatAgain @UofGFoodProf #Figueiredo #Food2150

Congrats to my fellow ProP4 members @anamikadutta99 @IanStPierre5 @LujaynMahmoud @michelless99 on our Dragons' Den pitch today! For those that didn't catch it, our product is Pee4 - the name kind of explains it: it is a urine test to measure progesterone (P4) levels! #BIOM4110

Infants that were fed natural lards, were able to absorb on average 6x more fatty acids then infants that were fed randomized lards. This is from the greater absorption of palmitic acid due to the greater content of 2-monopalmitin.What else could this be from?@UofGFoodProf #Filer

Ever wonder why some fish meat is white while other fish like salmon are red/orange? In the case of the salmon, it is due to the food-supplied carotenoid pigments, like astaxanthin. Turning the meat into that appetizing red/orange color we love. @UofGFoodProf #listrat #food2150

The brewing industry produces large amounts of by-products when making beer, resulting on average 20kg of by-product per 100L of beer. Due to the low cost and high nutritive value, it can be refined into flour and used in many baking products.@UofGFoodProf #Assignment #Gupta
