hey! if you're in Las Vegas and you're a SWer, @swaidvegas is hosting the next clothing swap on April 25th! I wish I could be there, but I hope you'll go instead! I helped secure some really cool raffle prizes to help raise money for our mutual aid fund 😉😉😉

Pride began as a protest, led by those who refused to stay silent in the face of state violence. That legacy lives on. 🏳️‍🌈 #PrideIsPolitical #AbolishICE #QueerResistance #KeepItFilthy #FilthyStudios #FreeExpression #SexWorkIsWork #ImmigrantRightsAreHumanRights #freedomofspeech

Now is actually a great time to mention it! A production hold several years ago inspired me to start PrEP and I'm so glad I did! I personally take Truvada but there are many options available.

I know this is a AWFUL time to mention it, but I feel that it's necessary to add: ASK YOUR DR. ABOUT PreP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This, and also contacting an STI is not a moral failing! Any sexually active person can contract an STI, even when doing everything "right".

"I'm selective of who I shoot with". HIV can take up to 35 days after exposure to test positive for Syphilis can take 90. You could have shot with a performer with a cleared test, who shot with a performer with a cleared test. STIs don't choose who they go to and when!

It is highly unlikely (but not impossible) that someone contracted HIV from filming on a normal set. It has not happened in this industry in 25 years because of regulation around testing. Your chances of contracting HIV from a single sex act are very, very low.

I know it's scary when the word HIV gets said but a little information on why we're all very likely safe and this hold is a very good thing 🧵

Prostitution happens when one person wants to have sex, and the other person does not. If both people wanted to have sex, no money would need to be exchanged. Men use money to override your no. They have total and complete control of the dynamic.

"we've always existed" "they can't erase us" is fine i guess but the problem with this rhetoric is that it communicates that dignity can be divorced from material circumstances. it can't! not having the right gender marker is a threat and permission.
