NEW: Quinn Beauchesne prospect profile. Lots of words and 13 minutes worth of video on a defenseman that I think is one of the biggest steals of this year's draft and some unreal work by Dubas & Clarke. Subscribe and enjoy! More to come. open.substack.com/pub/faceof…

I spoke with Premier @FordNation today. I emphasized the importance of standing up for Canadians’ rights and freedoms, including workers’ rights – and I reiterated that the preemptive use of the notwithstanding clause is wrong and inappropriate.

We need ALL types of texts to use in different ways with different learners. It is easy for the overworked and overwhelmed folks making decisions in education systems to want a simple black and white answer to solve problems (eg. “All levelled texts bad, all decodables good”).

We recommend that the government delay the return to in-person learning to provide all students in #OntEd with adequate PPE. We also recommend that the provincial government continue to monitor COVID-19 cases in schools and communicate the number of case counts to the community.

I hope districts realize that Teachers/staff and admin need motivation, inspiration, and affirmation more than ever. Morale has to be priority.

In this attempt, students try to look through their poets’ eyes first to see the artistic possibilities and then use Tracey’s process to capture and refine their ideas using Craft Moves (love that idea!) – at South Dundas, Ontario

The art was inspired by Voices but I tried it for years and was never able to get the poetry right. After taking Tracey’s #PoetsEye wkshp I realized that I was approaching it backwards - the art needs to flow from the poetry work first in order for students to write with meaning

First priority should be health and safety not homework and learning outcomes. We should await the Ministry Q&A early this week before jumping to conclusions or next steps.
#OntEd teachers, or any teachers whose schools are closed because of covid-19, have you assigned additional homework for students to do during this extended break? Feel free to reply to elaborate, and re-tweet for more responses.

I am having Tracey from @IdeaShopPD on my podcast tomorrow (🎉) to chat about her absolutely incredible learning space she created over the summer for her students! What question(s) do you have for her? #QSS #QueseraSarah #S03
Before and after. Believe it or not, my room has seating for 28. That’s just counting table surfaces. Add in clipboards and the carpet/bench area and there’s space for well over 30. That before pic? All those desks still only gave me seating for 24. Kind of a no brainer. 🤷‍♀️
