Neither retaining its full retail price doesn’t mean both have the same resale value. That’s a basic distinction. And suggesting insurance fraud isn’t exactly helping your argument.

Nobody said natural diamonds appreciate in value. The point is they generally retain more resale value than lab-grown diamonds. You’re arguing against a point nobody made.

Using this analogy, would an ice cube from your freezer hold the same level of importance as a piece of ice from a glacier? That is my beef with lab grown diamonds. If I'm going to spend that much money on something, I'd expect it to maintain value.

It’s unfortunate to see, but I think the plot gets lost sometimes when playing video games.
