The AG who wrote the defective law for the new drinking age has described my concerns as a storm in a teacup. This dangerous misinformation is expected. Previously, it was only an offence to SELL alcohol to minors. There is now a NEW offence of CONSUMPTION of alcohol by under-21s
The UNC Govt just passed a law which imposes an outright ban on the dispensing of sacramental wine to Catholics and other Christians under the age of 21 during communion, with harsh penalties. TT is now the ONLY Commonwealth country IN THE WORLD that is so blatantly antireligous
No other Commonwealth country does this. All Commonwealth countries allow the dispensing of sacramental wine during communion to minors
Sadly, TT is now stuck in deep economic contraction, caused by the ill-advised policies of the UNC Government. By removing incentives and loan guarantees for business, imposing oppressive taxes, stopping the money supply and retrenching thousands of workers, this was inevitable
These UNC Ministers could lie! Yesterday, Saadam Hosein claimed that the PNM planted a number of people in the Land Settlement Agency and alleged that the CEO of the LSA was hired based on a recommendation from me. The truth is that the CEO was first hired in 1999 under the UNC!
Only $7.7 Billion was provided to service our public debt in the 2026 Budget to make the accounts look good. It turns out that the actual expenditure on debt service in 2026 was $21.7 Billion, $14 Billion more. No wonder so many other important areas were starved of funds in 2026
The commentary by the media on the ongoing Budget exercise is two-faced. For example, the Government has increased the value of social grants by $250 but has reduced the allocation for these grants by almost $1 Billion. Madness. Yet not a word on this absurdity in the Editorials
Statements by pro-UNC commentators on the Budget are very counterproductive. Instead of confirming that the economy is in decline and explaining what needs to be done to stimulate the productive sectors and create jobs and growth, their focus is on making excuses for the UNC
The UNC Minister of Finance has achieved 2 records in the 2027 Budget debate. Firstly, he delivered his Budget without any economic data or analysis. Then, he wrapped up the Debate without responding to a single point about the economic downturn that was proven by the Opposition
The PNM built and paid for a fully functional modern Airport Terminal in Tobago. The only spending reported by rhe UNC government and the TPP was $10 million for interior fit-out, less than 1% of the $1.2 BILLION spent by the PNM. Yet the UNC is shamelessly claiming it as theirs
The budget documents show that the TT economy has contracted for two successive financial years under the UNC. The Minister avoided this fact and the usual commentarors are silent. The Budget also has a series of new taxes which will discourage investment. Yet the media applauds
The 2026 Budget Statement was miserably inadequate. It provided NO economic data whatsoever. No information on key indicators. We are all now in the dark as to how our economy is performing and it is clear that the Government is afraid to admit that our economy is in decline.
I've just read the Review of the Economy 2026, a document which public servants prepare. It is now confirmed that the TT economy SHRANK by 2.2% in 2026, and also contracted in 2025
The Prime Minister has described Independent Senators who voted on principle against oppressive and irrational legislation, such as the unconsitutional ZOSO bill, the perverse OPR bill and the arbitrary drinking age bill, as "satanic scumbags". She certainly has a way with words
The UNC is cutting the size of the Borough of Chaguanas in HALF, instead of enlarging it, drastically reducing its population size and land area, removing communities that have been part of Chaguanas for decades, such as Cunupia, Enterprise and Longdenville. Make it make sense
The UNC is circulating a deceitful doctored video pretending that I am opposed to Chaguanas becoming a city. I actually said it is nonsense to cut Chaguanas in half to make a city, because Chaguanas should be made LARGER instead, to be a real city, as first proposed by us in 2009
