While scrolling the @DedGorgez “Recently Listed” as I always do, I came across this clean stunner I hadn’t seen before and just had to pick him up 🤩 I loved how the bare-domed Astral bones bounced off the Gray Goose background, while the Supreme Lenses added that contrasting pop of vibrance. Visually, the only DDG in the collection with this exact combo. Clean. Recognizable. Iconic. 💎 But my appreciation for what initially looked like just another @ruangsunyiart banger went much deeper the more I stopped and stared. Turns out, there are layers of “Complexity” in these far-from-“Simple” Astral bones. Most artists might use a single base colour, a black outline, a simple highlight on one side and a darker shadow on the other. Three colours. Easy. Simple. Expected. Ruang used five 🤔 Not random. Each distinct. Each with a purpose. Each playing its part. Let’s break it down. 1. Pale ivory-mint #F1F9E4 — The highlight. Provides brightness without resorting to pure white. 2. Establishes the bones’ primary colour identity. 4. Electric violet #573BCE — The contrast. Introduces saturation, depth and visual energy. 5. Deep purple #3B1DA2 — The shadow. Adds depth and anchors the brighter colours. Five colours that, at first glance, might not seem like obvious companions. Yet together, they create something incredibly cohesive if you understand the principles of colour science. And this is where Ruang’s artistry truly shines and he separates himself. 1. Related undertones These colours span different parts of the colour wheel, yet their cool overall character helps them coexist without fighting for attention. 2. Contrast through saturation The pale colours provide softer, less saturated areas, while the electric violet and deep purple introduce intensity. The result? Contrast without visual chaos. 3.
