Good evening @JohnSwinney .. a question if I may .. We find ourselves blocked by thousands of Scottish nationalist and Scottish Green accounts. Never interacted with most of them. No arguments, no replies, no “abuse”just preemptive mass blocking via shared lists because I don’t buy the independence fairy tale or the latest progressive line. What kind of free society or democracy does this? Elected SNP figures have used blocklists to cut off critics and even senior lawyers with no prior engagement. The same people who lecture everyone else about free speech, “voices,” and democracy can’t tolerate dissent in their feeds. They don’t want debate; they want an echo chamber. Meanwhile the SNP conference just backed walking away from X (and a wider ban) over “misinformation and abuse.” The Scottish Greens are doing the same. Foreign bot networks have been boosting the indy cause for years—yet the response to domestic disagreement is to silence it rather than answer it. If your case for independence is so strong, why the mass preemptive blocking? Why the inability to hear contrary views without hitting the block button first? Democracy means competing for support from people who don’t already agree with you. It does not mean curating a pure feed and then claiming the other side is the problem.
