On October 21, 2026, a devastating fire struck a family’s home near Canton, Texas.
The mother, 27-year-old Jasmine Henson, and her children—Robert, Troy, Levi, and Avril—died after the fire. Their father and another child survived and were recovering, according to CBS News Texas.
Firefighters had to break through an exterior wall to reach children trapped inside. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
What makes this story even more heartbreaking is that the children were part of the local school community. Neighbors remembered hearing them playing outside, full of life.
As the family faced an unimaginable loss, people in the community began organizing donations and a fundraiser to help the survivors.
