The Ford gov has announced very troubling changes to social assistance, including the privatization of ODSP & OW employment services in some cities. Hamilton-Niagara will be serviced by a US-based provider. In Peel, its a subsidiary of an Australian private sector company.

Teachers are now hired based on seniority, not merit. The best young teachers can be stuck in supply teaching roles for years, limiting diversity and equity in hiring. The teacher unions are determined to maintain this system. We think that’s wrong. We’re fighting to change it.
