BULAWAYO DELEGATION TOURS GEO POMONA WASTE SITE
Today, a City of Bulawayo delegation led by Mayor David Coltart visited the Geo Pomona Waste Management site in Harare to observe its waste sorting operation. Mayor Coltart said the trip was "highly informative" and confirmed discussions with Geo Pomona are ongoing, with Council's next step being to understand the finances. He stressed he cannot commit the Council to a contract, as legal processes must be followed, adding: "We are not at all closed to a contract." Geo Pomona, which has managed the site since April 2022, says its sorting plant can handle up to 1,080 tonnes daily, and its planned waste-to-energy plant is not yet operating.

True! World Rugby definitely cuts costs by hosting Nations Cup in one place. On top of that, Zim Rugby continued hosting previous home games at Harare Sports Club & Hartsfield, both dilapidated. Highly doubt Zim was ever seriously considered as a host, even if they wanted to be

Vuyani Dhlomo is going to the Nations Cup! Man I love it. One of the coolest guys in the local rugby scene, so diligent, intelligent and yet so down to earth. He really deserves the call.
We will see him shining in the Zimbabwe Sables colors ๐

We need to thank Namibia
The expanded multi-nation #VictoriaCup2026 planned for Zimbabwe in October never materialised. But Namibia stepped up, delivering a valuable Test for the Sables.
The tournament aimed to give Sables as many meaningful games as possible ahead of the #RWC2027. While the wider vision collapsed, Namibiaโs cooperation helped preserve part of its purpose.
Thank you, Namibia, for showing up.

Good find ๐ This aligns with the Feb AGM commitment where @RugbyAfrique and the core Victoria Cup nations ๐บ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ช๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฒ agreed to support the Sables with games hosted in Zimbabwe.
If itโs scheduled for October, the lack of official communication from the unions is still disappointing and creates unnecessary doubt. Kenya (and others) can prepare regardless

Crowd around 16,000 (actually looks a bit more) but in a 60,000 stadium. It would have looked better in a 20,000 stadium but never mind. Very decent turnout for low profile friendly without most of the best of either team and good chance for Sables to connect with local fans.

My brother, ndiri bo. ๐ Gutted but we have to take our losses and be grounded. I have come to appreciate the growth of the Sables while navigating our reset and rebuild phase. We are exactly where we need to be. A better and more rugby focused NRU board will make it work.
