Bavuma has been a transformative Test captain, with 12 wins in 14 matches, four hundreds, a world championship mace, all stretched over three broken years. But he is still always, always chasing legitimacy and affirmation, in a way that is unique to cricket, but also unique to this man in this role in this sporting nation. First black middle order batsman. First black captain. How is this going to fall? How strong is that ice underfoot?
By a mile the greatest sporting story of the week (that no one actually watched)

His biggest mistake was failing to understand the dynamics at UFH. You cannot alienate yourself from students and think you will win management battles in that university. Fort Hare has always been a political space, and the role played by students is more than you can imagine.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Major-General Firoz Khan from Crime Intellegence and Major-General Ebrahim Kadwa have been arrested.
It’s believed they face the same charges.
Police released this statement:
TWO SENIOR OFFICERS AND A CIVILLIAN ARRESTED:
The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirms the arrest of two senior officers and a civilian allegedly linked to the illegal dealing and unlawful possession of precious metals following an intensive investigation by the Gauteng Counter Intelligence Operations (GCI-OPS).
The suspects, were arrested following investigations into allegations of illicit precious metals transactions, corruption and related offences.
The arrests were effected over the weekend by the team who executed a J50 warrant of arrest.
These arrests form part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to dismantle criminal networks involved in the illicit trade of precious minerals and corruption.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday facing charges that may include the unlawful dealing in precious metals, defeating the ends of justice, corruption and contravention of applicable legislation regulating precious metals in South Africa.
