Internal.IO was a lifesaver for us at @buildlane at a very critical time pre-seed/post-covid. If you're a non-coder and have some data chops, check it out when you build your next thing. xitter.cf/Internal_io/status/142…
Developer resources can get tight during tough times. Learn how George Gearhart, Head of Product @buildlane solved his Covid Crunch by using Internal to build tools: internal.io/blog/how-buildla… #nocode #Casestudy #internaltools

I have been really pleasantly surprised by how easy and intuitive @Internal_io is. Once I read a few of their docs I built out a simple, functional, edit form in about 5 minutes. Building the same thing from scratch would have taken days.

4 / Most companies can’t afford to dedicate enough engineering time to internal tools. There’s too many examples of what can go wrong when that happens. Even the largest tech companies can't get it right. washingtonpost.com/national-…

3 / If you’re not willing to dedicate enough engineering effort to build internal tools the right way (and forever maintain/scale them), don’t build them in the first place. Use a solution like INTERNAL instead.

1 / If you're considering building internal tools, it's important to remember that there's building internal tools, and then there's maintaining and scaling them forever. You don’t just build it once and forget about it.

The worst ‘God view’ abuse yet? Rather than building their own insecure internal tools, companies should use @Internal_io to restrict employee access to sensitive customer data. It’s not a problem until it’s a big problem. wsj.com/articles/justice-dep…?

Microsoft is able to build and improve Excel without ever seeing the contents of my spreadsheets. So why do SaaS companies insist on needing a god view with user data? If it’s needed for support scenarios, it should be temporary and cryptographically controlled by the end user. – at Seattle, WA

A huge open secret in Silicon Valley is that tech company, its workers & Gov agencies have complete access to private customer data through internal consoles called ‘God View’. #Privacy of data be it is your phone, laptop or in the cloud is a farce. All data I mean all is open

At Twitter you could go into any account and see who they blocked/muted ... coworkers did not mute other coworkers, especially your boss or 😮

“God View” nearly brought down Absolute Poker, and their scandal was amazing for us at Full Tilt from a competitive landscape perspective (FTP carefully encrypted everything from minute one)

“God View” has been a real thing at every company I’ve ever worked at, even my own ... an interesting problem that exists out of good intention but as a result of “lean” methodologies; a good problem to solve!
