The Iowa Pork Industry Center summer interns shared their final presentation today! Over the past 16 weeks they've contributed to four different research studies, assisted with extension programming, and gained experience on commercial and research swine farms.

Each summer, Iowa State University swine field specialists use ultrasound imaging to measure loin sizes and backfat depth at youth swine exhibitions across Iowa.
These measurements are incorporated into a formula to determine the top-performing pig! 🏆
