The Spanish bishops have released a statement following today's tragic train crash that left dozens dead:
'The Spanish Episcopal Conference joins in the grief of those affected and asks for prayer in the celebrations of the Christian community for all the victims so that, under the intercession of the Virgin Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted and Queen of Peace, the Lord may grant the gift of Life to the victims and hope to the families and those affected'

I’m so angry to read this about Joe Duffy.
It’s a reflection of how powerful trans activists are that @talktojoeduffy- the most well known and popular voice of the underdog in Ireland- considered a careful discussion about the importance of the word woman and mother “ the most wounding period of his career with the broadcaster.”
I had already been cancelled by then and so I recently carefully tracked and documented the slide of the Irish media into shameless servility towards trans activists.

This is how media manipulation works - look at the highly biased headline on the left, before it was changed following complaints - headlines are often used not to tell you the news, but to tel you how to FEEL about the news.

Sadly, we have been informed that the number of martyrs from the terrorist attack on St George’s Church in Jordan has risen from 7 to 9.
We pray for our brothers who have borne witness to Christ through their martyrdom, as well as for the swift recovery of the injured.

🚨 IRELAND 🇮🇪
Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan has CONDEMNED the country's growing problems with drugs and violent crime
Bishop Cullinan was speaking at the funeral of two parents and their children who were murdered in a drug related incident
Under Fianna Fail/Fine Gael, Ireland has become the 4th biggest user of cocaine per capita in the world
The bishop said:
'As a country we have not really faced up to this problem and it is a fact that in every city, town, village and townland harmful drugs are available.
Up and down this dear land, people are turning to drugs.
Young lives and the lives of the not-so-young are being destroyed by drugs, and those who work behind the scenes need to see the consequences of their dark trade and atone for their sin.
Pope Francis often said that ‘everything is connected’ and anyone who deals in drugs is contributing to a deadly darkness.
Anyone in Ireland who thinks that there is no harm in taking a line of cocaine on the weekend is utterly mistaken and is also feeding this evil machine
The use of drugs is a choice and a physical and spiritual problem. The human spirit seeks to be filled by love and meaning. Many people look in the wrong places.
I do not come to judge. I ask you all to join with me in saying this must stop. We must see what is happening to our country and our communities.
If the demand for drugs dries up then the supply disappears. Please join with me in proclaiming that there is another way to live, a better way to live'

Despite attempts by a few vested interests to hijack the synodal pathway, most voting participants yesterday (I was one) were deeply committed to evangelisation, reaching out and promoting the faith - narrow ideological agendas formed a very small part of the gathering.
A proposal to establish a national office for women in the Catholic Church in Ireland was rejected by a majority of delegates at an assembly examining the future of the church.
The proposal was described as overseeing "root and branch culture change".
