i have a theory about stella's magic, because honestly, i refuse to believe she's the only ars goetia who has absolutely no magical powers! i don't necessarily think she's as powerful as stolas or andrealphus, but surely she must have at least some magical abilities, even if they're relatively weak. what if her powers have simply become dormant because she hasn't used them in years? maybe she never received proper magical training, or perhaps she stopped practicing( cause of her marriage probably) so long ago that her abilities gradually weakened. but there's another possibility i've been thinking about. WHAT IF STELLA HAD TO GIVE UP SOME OF HER MAGIC AS PART OF HER MARRIAGE AGREEMENT?! we know her marriage to stolas was arranged, so i wonder whether there could have been some kind of magical clause requiring her to sacrifice part of her powers, perhaps alongside her dowry. maybe her magic was deliberately suppressed or even taken away after the wedding. almost like clipping a bird's wings so it can no longer fly. but even stolas had his powers taken away too, and yet we've seen that he still seems capable of using a little magic! 👀 so even if stella really did have her powers removed as part of her marriage agreement, that doesn't necessarily mean every trace of her magic disappeared. perhaps, just like stolas, she still has some magical energy deep inside her, only much weaker and harder to access. and if she hasn't practiced magic in years, that could make those remaining abilities even more difficult to use. imagine if stella actually had magical potential all along, but was never allowed to fully develop it! of course, this is just speculation. we don't know whether such marriage agreements exist among the goetia, or whether stella ever had magical training in the first place. but i find the possibility fascinating! and that brings me to another idea... WHAT IF OCTAVIA COULD HELP STELLA REDISCOVER HER MAGIC?! if vassago starts giving octavia spells and magical exercises to practice at home, perhaps stella could get fascinated by it and in trying to help her daughter with her studies she might join her during her practice. maybe she initially struggles to perform even the simplest spell, but little by little, something begins to awaken inside her. whether her powers were suppressed, taken away, or simply weakened through years of inactivity, perhaps practicing magic again could help her recover at least a small part of them.
