Many Nigerian men would rather leave their properties to a second family than secure the future of the wife and children they leave behind, all because they fear their wives might remarry after their death. Think about that: they would rather risk their children’s welfare than accept the possibility that another man might one day be with their wife. It was never really about protecting the family; it was about control, even from the grave.

Why are pastors so keen on tithing? The tithe is for God; let God judge those who don't pay it. The focus should be on the salvation and redemption of souls for Christ, because anyone who is truly saved and loves God will not be coerced into giving to God.

Mama, that man passed away and left the woman with kids. If, at some point, the house needs to be sold to take care of them or send them to school, that option should be on the table. All the family members shouting now will not contribute a kobo to take care of the kids. That house is her house, too.
