All people of goodwill and supporters of democracy across the world are relieved to see the trumped up treason charges against Comrade Tundu Lissu collapse, following his acquittal today.
These charges should never have been brought in the first place. Lissu’s only crime was to call for basic reforms to the electoral architecture in Tanzania to guarantee a fair process. He has lost over two years of his life in custody as he fought off the charges.
We encourage Ndugu Lissu, the CHADEMA Party and all our Tanzanian brothers to take heart and remain strong in their pursuit of justice and freedom, in the knowledge that all forces of regression are usually ultimately defeated.

Muranga Youth Service Cohort 10 started work today.
Assume
National Youth Service budget FY 2024/25 is Sh10.4B for 10,000 - 20,000 youths. That is *Sh520k - Sh1M per youth.
Murang'a Youth Service budget is Sh150M for ∼3,000 youths.That is ~Sh50k per youth, inclusive of community service stipend, 3 months training in existing VTCs, and Sh15k seed capital.
With the same 20B, MYS model could support over 400,000 youths per year.
Useling of existing county infrastructure and a non-residential, community-based approach.

The family of the late Mzee Nahashon Gachagua Reriani and the late Martha Kirigo Gachagua is mourning following the passing on of our firstborn sister, Eunice Nyangari Gachagua, in Naro Moru yesterday.
The late Eunice has been the mother figure in our family since the demise of our mother seven years ago.
I extend my most sincere condolences to her daughter Waithera, her son Murimi, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the entire Reriani family. My family shares in the pain and grief of each and every one of us.
We thank God for the 77 years she lived happily here on earth. We will deeply miss her wise counsel, warmth and the precious moments we shared. Eunice was a happy and warm soul who lit up our hearts.
We pray that her soul may rest in peace and that perpetual light may shine upon her forever.
