Forget the “coaching mafia” for a moment. There’s a bigger question here. If teachers like Khan Sir, Alakh Sir, Abhinay Maths and Neetu Ma’am are already teaching millions of students online, why does the government now need its own online coaching system? Isn’t this indirectly admitting that our schools, colleges and universities are failing to provide the education students actually need? Instead of fixing the education system, we are creating another parallel system. But before celebrating every new announcement, maybe we should check the old announcement folder: • Doubling farmers’ income by 2022 • 100 Smart Cities • Bullet Train by the promised timeline • Cleaning the Ganga • And now — free online coaching & massive AI training To be fair, some of these projects did see work, but the bigger question remains: how many promises actually met their original targets and deadlines? Because announcing a scheme from the Red Fort is easy. The real test begins after the speech ends. India doesn't need another headline. India needs delivery.
