PlayStation’s CEOs since Jim Ryan, and all the way to Nishino and Hermen Hulst have ruined the image of an iconic brand and made the worst decisions possible, and now they’re trying to penalize players for their failure🚀 ✅They’re distant attitude towards fans have been going for years, when they stopped doing any live events or major appearances at E3 and the likes, which took away so much from the sense of communication with fans ✅Maintaining a cold and purely corporate approach towards fans ✅Forced studios into a failed live-service chase, leading to cancelled projects, erratic studio closures, and massive resource waste. ✅Acquiring and shutting down many studios in the last few years before they had the chance to produce anything ✅Overspent on acquisitions and projects, notably a $3.7 billion investment in Bungie and an estimated $400 million loss on Concord. ✅Barely any innovation with games, as they rely on 4 main brands for new entries, and remakes and remasters of them ✅Increased prices for PS Plus and hardware while the output has been abysmal ✅Now they’re trying to force a digital-only future where much of this corruption and incompetence will be amplified ✅They are using manipulated data to engineer this narrative that physical games are a niche market, by calculating DLC, MTX, digital only and free-to-play as “digital purchases”. Whole global physical sales for games tell a whole different story ✅64% of the world has no dedicated PS Store, meaning 64% of the world will not be able to legally acquire video games per Sony’s terms ✅Games that consist of a code in a box are region locked too ✅Ditching physical media means no competition, no options, pricing hikes and reliance on the mercy of a storefront and its functioning networks, and their support team in case issues occur These CEOs need to go. Sony is facing a $457 million lawsuit because of their attempt to cease production of physical games by January 2028🚀 ✅Sony defended their digital pricing by arguing that consumers could simply buy physical discs if they found PlayStation Store prices too high. ✅Because the digital store will soon become the only place to purchase new games, legal experts note that Sony has effectively dismantled its own defense by eliminating that physical alternative. Here’s what “Digital-Only Gaming” means🚀 ✅If your account is hacked/lost/suspended, you lose the games you paid for ✅If the PSN (or any service network) is down, you can’t access games you paid for ✅If you change your region, by their terms, you need to create a new account because they have no account region change or transfer, so you lose the games you paid for ✅If you don’t use your account for 36 months, you lose the games you paid for because Sony, by their terms, will take steps to close your account ✅If you aren’t connected to the internet, you cannot access the games you paid for ✅If a digital license expires or any falling out occurs between the digital storefront and the game’s studio/publisher, you will lose access to games you paid for (like they removed 500 movie purchases without compensation just 2 weeks ago) So if you consider this “the future” and “the evolution” cool, enjoy! Not everyone likes to be c**ked by corporations and scammed for their money, over things they bought and paid for. A video game you bought that can be taken away anytime, is no different nor less serious than a refrigerator, a piece of clothing, a car or a hairdryer that you bought, and somehow the manufacturer can switch off from their end without compensation.
