i had a lot of people asking how I created the 3d pins for my travel app
and why not share the secret sauce, right? 🤷♂️
here's the step-by-step guide ⬇️
here's the repo for anyone who's interested in trying it out for themselves (or making a contribution 😊)

ive been messing around with ways to make Claude Code use fewer tokens (so I stop hitting my limit so early 😅)
one thing I noticed is how many tokens it wastes searching through files just to understand a repo
this weekend I hacked together a tool that gives it a codebase map instead. tested it on 6 repos and it actually decreased token usage quite a bit 🧵

i know its been said over and over on here but damn... Claude's motion design is amazing 😳
had it create this video showcasing the app I built to help other indie developers get their apps the attention they deserve!

Neat! This builds on the ideas of my earlier article about exposing program databases to coding agents: dashbit.co/blog/evolving-ai-…
PS1: this map actually exists inside most LSP implementation but the API for querying it sucks!
PS2: for dynamic programming languages like Ruby, you still need the approach in tidewave.ai, where you move the query to runtime to provide the most precise information possible

also gotta give credit to @josevalim for this post. the idea of letting agents query a database of your code instead of digging through files really stuck with me.

and since I already had the graph built, I figured I might as well make a little Mac app to explore it too
anyways, I open sourced the whole thing on GitHub if anyone wants to mess around with it
macOS / Apple silicon. takes 3 commands to set up and everything runs locally, so your code never gets uploaded anywhere.

curious how well it works on other people's repos!
every indie dev learns this the hard way: shipping the app is 10% of the work. distribution is the other 90%.
this is the first thing i've seen that actually automates the part most devs hate 🙌

created this fun koi pond using swiftui and metal
does it have a purpose? no...
have I been moving lily pads and creating ripples in the water for the last hour? maybe...
built a fun pool shader this weekend!
even made it intractable with a rubber duck and a tube 🐤
made with SwiftUI + Metal
for anyone who wants it, I open sourced this shader here ⬇️
